An interesting read on some projections to herd immunity and pandemic endpoints. Projections are based on the US only a country that can throw vast sums of money and resources at the problem. Obviously in the 3rd world and large populations like India (India has purchased enough vaccines to inoculate 20% of their population in 2021) herd immunity will be many years away.

As I pointed out yesterday the US has up to 750,000 hospitalisations a year under their 'normal' infectious disease management for influenza.

Yes Bella but that is what the market is currently missing and providing an opportunity here to buy at level I never thought we would see again. Over the weeks and months people will realise that this fact of 'total vaccination' will not happen, there will be stories in the media of people being vaccinated but then catching covid and the market will eventually wake up to the need of long term treatments needing to be available as covid still exists in the world's population. Maybe not at the levels that it does now but this is now endemic. All IMO of course.

Total bought vol: 1,414,350.

Interestingly every trade of 50k volume and above were buys (10 of them for total volume of 770k).

Bruce, Think you have misread my post. When I say 'we' have vaccinations I mean the world not the company!. I completely understand what SNG001 is and have done since March when I bought into the company.

If we take the flu vaccine as an example of an inoculation that deals with a respiratory viral infection that is regularly provided to large proportions of the population then we can see that there will be a long term ongoing need for SNG001.

Data taken from CDC illustrates this clearly (US only):

- Overall effectiveness of influenza vaccine (whole population) - 40-60%
- Flu vaccinations reduced risk of hospitalisations for over 65 age group by 54%

Despite flu vaccines CDC estimates the following for the period 2010-2020.

- Up to 45 million illnesses annually.
- 140,000 - 810,000 hospitalisations annually.
- 12,000 - 61,000 deaths annually.

It is fantastic news that we will have a range of vaccines that will hopefully reduce this illness to levels similar to influenza. However it is clear IMO that SNG001 will be a treatment that will be required in dealing with COVID for a very long time given that the AZN vaccine appears to be offering similar levels of protection to the flu vaccine.

It’s a good point Snowman. Why spend £33m on producing SNG001 if you don’t have some idea that there is a buyer at the end.

Surely if you are going to claim 90% efficacy you need to get data on more than 2500 people to confirm it is near this value. Or you could just use those numbers to bump up your actual 62% efficacy on a different regime to 70%.

I heard on one radio station today 1 dose gets you 70% and two doses get you to 90%. 62% wasn't even mentioned.

Broker rating was £.3.20 for successful phase 2 COPD trial.

Mr Costs, No idea what the number is. All I can base my investment decision on is what the CEO said in his most recent presentation. Why tell your shareholders during a turbulent time for the share price if there were not some discussions being had around stockpiling?

Patience, Yes agree it is very important that the company focuses on COPD as well and I hope they do this as soon as feasibly possible. I just don't see the covid situation going away before next winter. It may be reduced somewhat here in the UK but even that is debatable. But for the larger poorer countries of the world there is no chance that they are receiving enough vaccinations to halt the disease in its tracks. The logistics are just too difficult for the type of mass vaccination that is required to completely eradicate this virus within the next 12 months.
