From what I understand one analyst is predicting a 2.5p eps for the full year. This would indeed make a net profit of £35m. However the other predictions fall as low as 1.5p - ie £21m profit. Quite a lot of difference. Given a pe ratio of 6-7 this would give us a share price between 9p and 17.5p. Expect volatility as the clues about this year's trading are revealed. The current pe ratio of under 4 is crazy or it indicates that the outlook for y/e Dec 2012 is much worse.

Wont the refinance costs be discounted from eps since they are non-recurring item? I agree that profit may go either way, but nothing yet to indicate a deterioration. I'm still hoping for at least 12p by end of Feb - PE ratio of 10 over generous in present climate - 6 or 7 more reasonable.

Any thoughts about the Leeds acquisition? What seems strange to me is that Jardine should want to sell the franchise. I wonder what was paid?

Interesting reading - sorry just caught up here. So you're saying the £50m cost for the pension fund effectively comes off their overall debt interest savings- but has no effect on the profit/loss for the year. In 20 years all will be rosy!

Yes, I've read up about Odey - not the sort of outfit looking short term I imagine - they're going for long term value. We need to be over 13.5p to get back to the terp so selling before then might be premature. PDG should be in much better shape as a result of RI.

I agree - it'll take a long time to clear - until then however much is bought - the sp wont move much from 10p.

are not bad either oldtimer. Also the RI will reduce the net finance costs for next year from this years £24m, which will boost profit perhaps by £4-6m next interim. I stand by my other remarks made last Thursday.

Results next week are expected to be ok, in line with earlier forecasts. The market may well ignore them, since it is looking at the biggger picture and will worry that more recession will depress car sales in the future. My guess is that the shares will trade in the 9.5 - 10.5p band for quite some time. I think the projected p/e ratio is now around 5, so there really can't be much downside now. (Famous last words!)

lemmink - Interesting take on the underwriters. Its in fact 243m shares they're left with - and it will take a long time to clear them. I don't suppose they will want to sell below 10p since that's giving away their fee for underwriting.

Only 68% takeup announced - not very high, but perhaps not surprising in the circumstances. A big overhang though - progress will be a lot slower than I hoped. Little trading activity now. I'm not off to Stratstone yet!!!!
