PDG not dirt cheap any more, so not really a t/o target, given their size. Still a lot of borrowings too could be a put-off!

RNS shows good internet growth - I believe this company has a good strategy for the future, and interesting to see its p/e ratio now more in line with inch and lookers.

Yes, the price is fair - it was last year's price that was a bit optimistic, but then that was before some of the Euro worries. INCH was also over 400 last year (its now 317) , so relative values are similar. I've taken profits, too, but will be back if the price drops a little. I still prefer to the other car dealers, since when recovery kicks in this will move more.

Price has held really well in the worsening market. I'm now of a strong no opinion! lol

A good upbeat statement released today. All in line then for steady but slow SP growth over the coming year. I think the rapid rise has all finished now, and we can go to sleep for a bit.

Don't worry. You can often pay/receive inside the quoted spread. As for PDG - in the slow lane at present. I'll buy at 12p - never mind the spread!!!

Don't blame lse. The spread depends on 2 prices, and you can be quoted different prices for different volumes. So the spread varies too. I think lse (or the MMs) often give quotes to the next quarter, so eg a price of 13.55p would appear as 13.5p, and 13.7p would be 13.75p. Up a tick to 13.8p and you'll see 14p. Its not just lse.

I feared a placing was coming, but at least a price of 9.7p is only just below current trading. Will SP drop to 8p? In all probability. Meanwhile the results are not causing a stir. 2 trades in an hour. zzzzzzzzzzzzz again.

On the other hand, some people may now be switching out of PDG to the more international and profitable INCH, especially if they invested here at less than 10p.

Yes, news bound to be a bit a nudge for PDG. I don't suppose we'll top 14p though.

I think at present a forward p/e ratio of 10 is far too high. With firm evidence that the recession is over it may not be. Otherwise we'd better stick to a likely price of 15p (ie p/e ratio of 8). Just a hold for present.

I broadly agree with lemmink's analysis. Yes there may be increase of eps due to less interest, but not nearly as much as you suggest, rexco. I don't expect an increase in EPS to more than 1.9p - which might suggest a SP of 15-19p.

I'm glad you're trawling through the annual report, not me. The real problem with PDG profits is that they are small for a company with a £3.5b turnover, so exceptioanals can have a disproportionate effect. Next year you will see EPS restated as 1.77p when comparisons are done with 2012 figures. Then EPS of 1.9p will be trumpeted as progress!

Noticed a post! I'm almost ready to dump this lot - but I feel the SP is far too low at present. Sometime soon the placing will be a distant memory and the true value will come back. But when?
