For me, look at the trading ranges of sound companies when considering investing and do not leverage so as not to be at the behest of margin calls.

I traded WG. around 200 - 230p originally and was underwater uncomfortably for a matter of what seemed like very long weeks as I had a sizeable position.

Just kept racking and the stock bottomed and my core was founded. More swings here than a play park. Up 8%, on a good day sometimes. That works well for me.

Don't want to see anywhere £2 again but if it happens (5% chance) will start another rack and blend the 2 cores over time.

Aim for a free holding in an ISA which in time will return to tax free dividend income and will go to cash in the ISA any time it is prudent crystallise some gains.

Not for everyone, but building a great core portfolio of low average to zero cost shares.

Let A = price on close day before ex rights
Theoretical ex rights price is worked out by this formula (A x 25 + 1.84 x 12) ÷ 37
Eg A = 382, then one would expect the ex rights price to trade around 317 /318 p at 8am opening.on 7th April.
( NB the price on Thurs could have been boosted by those trying to secure rights and Tues the price may drift.)

On 7th, the market will decide whether the price should move up or down as normal.
Shareholders with rights can decide for themselves whether to pay for the rights by 21 Apr or sell the rights in the market at whatever premium there is. On the 22nd Apr the dealing in new shares commences.

Who knows day by day,really but the trend is up as the recovery takes hold. Should be stabilization in oil prices post meeting and stellar quarter results end April and a positive outlook going forward to tear end.

Let the trend be your friend but do not forget to average down when the opportunity arises.

Imho dips are buying opportunities, in a bond induced crash too.

Thought same and averaged down at yesterday's low which for now seems to have been a fantastic trade. I started racking small speculative at 147-1k & 133 -1k and now have a small holding 10k averaging 124p.

intend to reduce holding and trade to average sub £1 to hold and build.

So onwards and upwards hopefully.

Cnbc commentator on the oil price moves today, Pippa Stevens.

WTI & Brent both rising more than 3% today following that meeting.Opec and its allies agree to ease up on production cuts beginning next month.
An additional 350k barrels per day will be added to the market in May and June, with that number rising to 450k bpd by July.
Saudi Arabia will also scale back voluntary cuts meaning by July that roughly 2m bpd will be back online.
It was a little bit of a surprise.

BUT TODAY'S UPWARD ACTION SUGGESTS THAT THE MARKET VIEWS THIS DECISION AS A SIGN THAT DEMAND WILL BE STRONGER IN THE 2ND AND 3RD QUARTERS AND INTO THE BACK HALF OF THE YEAR.

Support at $60.
Earnings leverage is going to be massive this year.

Patience Is a Virtue That Can Lead to Great Rewards

Had recovered well off the low today until the news about oil weakened.

I will just keep on plugging away as usual. The trade is always there. Tranches will average down until the averages turn around.

Like most, I was underwater in BP., a paper loss of course, just kept plugging on, reducing my average
until boom up over 70% of the BP lows at one point.

I expect WG. to be 350p+ at some point which will be a great return if your 250p comes to pass.

Increasing all the way down, this company is not going out of business.

No pain no gain.

Simply, the market was preparing for no change from Opec and the news late aternoon broke of gradual increase in production. The market will move on now that is is known.

Also many fund managers do book profits at year end / quarter end to flatter their reports.

Nothing sinister, just a recovery underway IMHO and I have lived through a few.
