Perhaps media friends are trying to shake the tree into action. There are always people on the make behind the scenes and not everyone has good intentions.

The audit report is historic.
What was seen as normal before has now become reportable and actionable (due to covid - contracts were being deferred / cancelled etc)

Can be clean again this year too if it is one-off exceptional items, prudence concept in recognising write downs and no going concern issues.
