RE: Strewth BB breaking news23 Mar 2021 18:21
Mr Tibbles
My original post was a comment on Bloomberg that I thought was worth posting (almost immediately) as it could have had a market impact should vaccine politics delay people getting the vaccine (or at least those who choose to do so)
The line I added at the end was in direct conflict to the utterances of LVD and M McGuinness who stated as recently as today how the EU was helping the rest of the world as well as it's members.
Hence the strewth, the exasperation and concern as to how it would effect markets with Brussels having done an about face on what the markets had been guided to expect.
The vaccine news is short term noise, it will level out eventually. A year on everyone is fed up with the Govt & the political spin, manipulation and lies. Labour Tory Republican Democrat whoever is in office are all as bad as each other. The Govts change but generally the mandarins do not and implement much the same policies pandering to their voters.
As regards a rerun of the Brexit arguments, that was not my issue.
In human terms the EU have stopped vaccines going to the member states. Nothing to do with Brexit. Just sheer incompetence. If you recall Merkel decided at the start to give the vaccine to the over 80s only and only ordered that quantity for Germany. In hindsight a huge mistake. It was cost saving that she thought she would get away with. It may have worked out is she had called it correctly but it turns out she make a mistake and her voting public were not happy.
In business, if you place an order and someone delays placing their order is it a surprise that the business fulfils the first order and agreement before dealing with a 2nd customer?
The Tory policies HS2 etc are not my issue either. Brexit is done and dusted, for better for worse. Both sides need to make it work and not rehash old arguments. No point in Tory bashing, Farage bashing either. That is for a different forum.
My view from the start, not meant to offend, is that this is a political "flu". Now the vaccine has been politicised and weaponised.
That does not help anyone.
