Battery tech, Graphene and EV's defo the products of the future, but the EV Charging Infrastructure has to make a quantum leap from where it is now, otherwise we are going to have lots of EV's stranded on the roads, and nowhere to charge them - especially in the UK, north of Birmingam. I have personally never seen a single EV charge point at a Conventional Filling Station , in the UK and only a very few at motorway service stations at present. I see also that the wonderful Chris "Failing Graying" has proposed that the subsidy on UK EV's is to be reduced by £1000, per car in the next budget and that the discount on Hybrids is also to be reduced to zero. So, you can see where the Govt is going to go as regards revenue collection from EV's. That's without taxing the electricity to charge the EV's on top of that !
Then, where is all the electricity to charge them going to come from ? Boris Johnson says "the Plug" and being a total genius, he is, of course, correct. As we haven't actually managed to build a nuclear power station for 20 years, or produce a reliable source of electricity that delivers consistent baseload electricity, where is THAT all going to come from - apart from covering the entire country, and seas around our shores with wind turbines ?
I'm sure that this will all be resolved at some stage, but right now, it still all looks a long way in the future, partially exacerbated by the big oil companies, who want us to continue using their dirty products for as long as possible. Evr seen an EV charge point in a Petrol Filling station in the UK ? - I haven't. (yet).
Think VRS is a great company, but question the time scales that are being applied, and whether VRS's products can be made commercially viable in that time period ? One is always running against the Nay-Sayers, and (God help us) the bloody banks and money lenders too, who generally spoil the party on most good ideas ! Lets hope VRS continue to do an Elon Musk and wave 2 fingers at the doubters !
