Also I assume haulage rates would increase significantly from less depth, but gives an example of what is still possible from greater depths for the future at Havieron.

Finally with Newmont being involved they will be aware of the pros and cons of such a setup.

Hi Bamps,yes hopefully a combination of greater technical knowledge, superior equipment, experience gained from past drilling and maybe even a case of at the present time the economics of going that little further making more sense will help us hit the jackpot for a second time.

The article above about the Havieron discovery has probably been posted numerous times before by others, I haven’t got a clue what most of it means so have just extracted from the conclusion a bit I do understand.

“The first of the historic holes HAC9101, which seems to have been directed into the magnetic peak, had the potential to make the discovery had it been drilled deeper. A similar comment may also pertain to the second hole, HAC9201, but how these holes were designed is unknown to the writers. The remaining four historic holes seem to have been designed based on a different philosophy, or perhaps a different modelling algorithm, but they were ineffective- missing what the present model deems to be the primary target.”

I knew this would happen Lol! My pension transfer into my SIPP has been delayed due to an “administration error” so no doubt we’ll be at 10p before the cash clears into my SIPP. I’ll still probably buy at that but would have been nice to have topped up at last weeks prices. Hey ho, If I hadn’t chased them up myself we’d no doubt be mining 3 Tier1 mines by the time the transfer was sorted.

The Telfer Gold Mine is located about 55 km to the west of the Havieron Gold Mine and 400 km south-east of Port Hedland in the Great Sandy Desert region of Western Australia. The project includes: 

The open pit and underground mining and subsequent processing of gold-copper ore at the Telfer Gold with associated infrastructure including a 160 MW natural gas-fired power station, waste rock landforms, tailings storage facilities, accommodation village and borefields. 

A 440 km-long natural gas pipeline corridor from Port Hedland to the Telfer Gold Mine. 

The underground mining of gold-copper ore at the Havieron Gold Mine for processing at the Telfer Gold Mine, as well as the continued and/or expanded use of existing associated facilities at Havieron, including the underground decline to access the orebody, waste rock landforms, evaporation ponds, stockpiles, and accommodation village. 

The construction and operation of the Infrastructure Corridor between Telfer and Havieron to facilitate the transport of ore and other materials between Havieron and Telfer, including tailings and waste rock materials for the progressive backfilling of the Havieron Gold Mine, and the installation of a pipeline for water supply and a powerline within the corridor.”

I agree Antigua that the new JV seems more advantageous to us, plus and I apologise if I have got this wrong, but did Shaun not allude to in his last interview that the new area was the best land package we have.

We’ve got 100% owned Scallywag, the new RIO JV (which we have no choice but to manage) and looking ahead to 100% owned Ernest Giles to prepare for. Our exploration team can only do so much and Juri will still be left in very capable hands and we maintain any upside.
