I never saw it, so in my mind it never happened. Still holding above £1.

It's a no from me, so is that 1 - 1 so far ?

Interesting observation / research. Might reconsider my top up strategy on the back of that. Let's think about letting it fall to 95p before topping up.

Large buys then price drop ?

Was half expecting this to test the £1 level this morning, and I would top up. If it goes backwards, under the £1, I will average down. GL All

Hick I have worked for two sizeable global Insurance companies which got into trouble. So I am well aware of what can happen. For RSA it is just a small part of the company where there has been issues.

I do not think that there is any comparison between RSA Irish situation and that of the Independent Insurance company. It has been stated that this is isolated to their Irish division. RSA Insurance Group plc is a multinational insurance company It has over 17 million customers in 140 countries across the World. How can the Independent Insurance compare ?

Chris I have never said "it was a no brainer" please do not misquote me. On th day the RNS was posted the share price was in excess 0f £1.04p. How does buying at more than 4p less than the sp show confidence in the company.? What does show confidence is that there have ben no Director sells since the announcement. I too am an investor and I am in this share. There was a poster who said they were interested in "Directors buys and sells" I am too. I am not interested in Directors taking up share options at insignificant amounts. Perhaps the other "interested" individual may wish to comment further. I am sure you will !!!!

Irish situation On the November 11th, Simon Lee, Group Chief Executive of RSA, said: "We are extremely disappointed with the issues which have been identified and their financial impact on the group. Whilst the investigation is ongoing, I am confident that these issues are isolated to the Irish business" "We want to ensure that the actions being taken in Ireland and across the group are correct and that all lessons are learnt. Whilst these issues are serious, they do not have a material, long term impact on the group" "Our capital position remains robust and we remain committed to our dividend policy which is aligned with market expectations for the full year final 2013 dividend." I would emphasise the "do not have a material, long term impact on the group"

Chris, Yes I read the RNS., why would you think I am posting about it ? At the time the options were granted the sp would have been a lot higher. Unfortunately when the option was taken up, there wasn't much to be gained. My whole point was that the RNS means nothing to any investor. I could not and still cannot see the point of posting the link for any investor to spend time reading it. More so that a niave investor thinks more into it than that the Director is happy to buy at a discount.to the current sp.

RSA is top of Top fallers today, not the best of news!

It indicates to me that the Director has a time slot when he can exercise his options. If the sp is higher than the option price during that period, only an idiot would not exercise that option. So the Director is not an idiot !

Chris, Yes we all are ! But not Exercising the right to buy shares from a save as you earn option scheme at a price below the current sp. That doesn't indicate anything does it.

Queenie, Get your point about the RNS , I too appreciate that BB users will take time out to post links to issued RNS, so we are all aware asap of any fundamental changes. Readers have different degrees of knowledge and we don't want to confuse or mislead anyone, if any misleading information is on here then it is important that this is addressed, particularly if this comes from an experienced long time poster. So basically a RNS is posted about A Director buy....indicates to readers to follow suit. But if that Director buy is not an actual buy in the market at current sp, then it is not an indicator to follow suit. That is why I flagged this, as I do not want people to think more into the Director " buy" than what it actually states, which is a small take up of an option at less than current sp. Appreciate your point that you posted "in good faith" let buyer beware. DYOR etc. what I wanted is to point out to others was that the RNS means nothing....I did not go about that in the right way...I apologise

Hick, Elvis, I try & ignore the posters who post utter c r a p, I also hate having to trawl through endless messages just to find a glimmer of useful info. I did stop share dealing for a while, as I found it difficult to make money, due to Share fees, stamp duty, silly spreads, not being at my computer in order to sell / buy on peaks and troughs. The biggest problem I found was my impatience. If I had held on to some of the shares, I would have had a holiday home in the caribbean by now. Then again I know a lot of posters who held onto shares to the death and lost the lot.. It's a funny old game.
