He also said he was thinking of buying into OCDO instead, which is today down 3%, so I hope instead he held off and actually bought more THG around 176p yesterday, which he correctly forecast would be the closing price to be fair

He bought at 181p and sold at 179p and the price is now 184.4, so he would have made3.4p instead of losing more than 2p including tax and trading fees, so there's a gap of over 5.4p per share or 3% (179 to 184.4)

I feel sorry for anyone who may have panic sold yesterday at 179p or less and missed buying back at a lower rate.

Potentially there's not much time left to get THG at these prices. Last year THG put out a great Q4 trading update on Monday 7th December, so there's potential for us to be just 2 days away from a good RNS...

No I don't think so, and if so personally I'm glad MM hasn't relinquished it yet if this is the case.

Great story. It's forward thinking ideas like this which make me love THG. There's an environmental element to it for sure, but MM's a money man and it's vertical integration ideas like this which I really like about him and his business. Same school as Elon. As a money man, I have no doubt MattM would have looked at the numbers and worked out he can make plastic packaging cheaper than he can buy it, and with oil being phased out as a fuel, oil for plastics will become more expensive over time. Having packaging expertise in house will help a lot in the future and no doubt have a return on investment within 10 years.

Buys: 600k shares traded on the way up from 13:33 to 15:31, from 176.8 to 181.5.
Sells: 150k shares traded on the way down from 15:32 to now, from 181.3 to 177p.
Maybe not manipulation, but maybe AI bots playing with human emotion to drive people to sell to to ensure stop losses are hit, especially during school run times in the UK.

Sorry to hear your in a hole on this. I went in around £2.99 and bought more as the price rose and my highest buy price was £3.37. I sold and took some losses on the way down, bought more to average down, then traded parts of my holdings to average down further, and now I'm averaged about £2.00.

But personally I do think your £3.00 price will be covered by next year. My plan is to hold THG now for about 5 years or more to be honest, but then I'm super confident in THG and their management and the business model and I see what T-Rowe and Sofina see in them for sure.

I see THG moving into many other high margin product categories over the next 5 years, significantly increasing their size.

And I'm also looking at what OCDO did in the early years on the FTSE, pushed down 70% from their IPO price, and then how their SP grew significantly, and then ramped up further from when they announced/listed in the US (+800% over 5 years)... I'm pretty sure MM will be pushed to do the same and then that will be huge money for early investors like us. OCDO now trades 1278% above the 2011 IPO price

To clarify - I just mean/I'm just saying (and probably we may agree) THG is at a different place to WISE currently. I think we're at the bottom of pricing on THG with any luck.
If think you're saying on THG we could have a jump at any moment. I agree

I wouldn't be surprised if WISE follows the same track down as THG, DARK, JET, ROO etc. THG had many bounce ups above 15% on a long track down. A sell off has literally just started on WISE in the last 10 minutes as people take their profits.

The scheduled update for the Q4 trading statement will be Jan (last year 12th Jan), but THG could do a generic trading update to highlight current levels of performance or new news considering Q4 is such an important period for retail markets. Last year they updated 7th December on Black Friday and other matters.

I think its institutional investors trying to buy up stock at best prices and some day traders playing.
When the price was pushed down to this price previously, we found that Sofina Capital were buying up 12m shares over a period of probably 3 days based on the volumes traded over the days prior to the announcement that they'd bought another 1% investment in THG. Then we got an RNS highlighting they'd bought a load of stock crossing a threshold of requiring to publicly announce, and the price jumped to over 200p. Personally I wouldn't be surprised if they're using the algo bots to push the price back down to this level to buy up more stocks from weaker retail traders...
There would have been a load of other buyers entering when the price tanked on Friday morning with the rest of the market. So these are also being given a bit of a shake.
If this company is so bad, why did Sofina buy another 1% in the business the other week, and why did T-Rowe buy 5% of the company in the weeks prior. Crazy anyone selling now in my opinion. BUY BUY BUY.
But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong, along with Sofina and T-Rowe...

There was a great professor on Bloomberg yesterday. It was the first time she's been on and basically it was the first I've seen a virology specialist playing down the virus, saying there is no point putting masks on kids and this virus is highly likely to be less dangerous, despite the high number of mutations.
She was basically saying a higher number of mutations is likely a good thing. Viruses tend to evolve to weaken in danger of death over time. They become easier to spread, but less dangerous. This is because the virus "wants" to survive, so killing the host is not a great idea to evolve, so it wants to become easier to spread, but less dangerous. She was great, but I very much doubt Bloomberg will have her back again until they want to pump the market again. Today is another day of fear lol.
