Cobus Loots, CEO of Pan African Resources, on delivering sector-leading returns for shareholders. Watch the video here.
I think they would make a great partner, as they already have about 850,000 drivers with cameras pointed at them, so unlikely to push back about being monitored, unlike new drivers that are not familiar with the technology (e.g. trams). So, having our intervention tech wld be a great upgraded for their large client base. (Definitely better than Geotab). We need as many distributors as possible. It would be great if we had a mix style integrated system with them. Just imho as usual.
Yes, I heard they were very interested in our tech back in summer 2016. I’m surprised we haven’t done a deal with them, they look like a great partner for us. Maybe we will one day. I contacted them a while back, but they were obviously very cagey about giving anything away about future offerings.
Good endorsement of DMS https://www.theconnectedcar.com/author.asp?section_id=627&doc_id=743116
Great articles! Thanks for sharing. If Subaru used Mitsubishi Electric’s DMS, they will be disappointed. I tested it last year and it was disaster. I’d be surprised if it cld tell the difference between a human and a horse, let alone differentiate between different drivers. Just imho as always
In the report they frequently mention Seidl et al 2017, which I believe is this report: https://publications.europa.eu/en/publication-detail/-/publication/77990533-9144-11e7-b92d-01aa75ed71a1 It gives more details on the Driver distraction on page 58. The information seems very dated, with references to research in 2015 and 2010. Highlights how important studies conducted by Mike Lenne are and how difficult it is for regulation to keep up with technological change. Looks like there is a brief and indirect mention of our tech in the CT6 on page 59 ".... will be introduced as OEM-fitted technology with a start of production in late 2017".
Not sure if posted already: https://www.ccjdigital.com/converging-on-safety-tech-companies-sharing-data-to-detect-risky-drivers/ Mix Telematics is “always looking for different data streams to integrate with,” says Pete Allen, chief client officer. The company offers an integrated camera for its telematics platform and has integrations with Mobileye’s forward collision warning system and Seeing Machines’ fatigue detection system. Alerts from the Mobileye and Seeing Machines systems can be part of MiX Telematics’ data stream, he says, to identify correlations with driver behaviors caught on camera such as distractions.
If we hit 15p next week, the company would probably release an RNS stating NCAP will '...have no material impact on future earnings' and remind us again that the CEO left in Jan, Takata went bankrupt (well nearly) and Dubai taxis didn't sign a contract with us 2 years ago! Anything to keep that annoying SP down! :)
The discussion was priorities, of course the ceo and BoD have fiduciary duties to shareholders. (Certainly more so to current shareholders than any potential suitor). But this is AIM, so I wldn’t over rely on that.
Just to clarify, the priorities of any company are: 1) Customers (without them, we have nothing) 2) Staff (without them, who supports the customers?) 3) Shareholders Anyone who disputes this, shld probably go on a basic business course. We have provided them enough money to hit break even, so why do they want to be sold off? If it’s to keep everything cosy in the office, then the managements priorities are seriously out of whack. They need to get a new CEO with a strong business acumen to expand the business, to realise some real value for shareholders so that all 3 on the above list are happy! Just imho as always

A poorly researched article from Jan 2017 which Smarteye just posted on Twitter, I wonder if we wld feature in a 2018 version. https://imotions.com/blog/top-eye-tracking-hardware-companies/
