@keith 666 I am well ready for any battle nice healthy strike kitty ready the good thing about them dragging it out is that it gave us all time to earn plenty of money. Whether they hit the button and take us on i am not too sure but the jury really is out to be honest. On pay i think we will get a decent deal especially if they can clear a flight path to 35 hours that will be a hell of a result. On pensions i think they are now joined up to our way of thinking it looks pretty good on that front. The two sticking points will be delivery methods changing the workplace culture the MTSF and the Attendance procedure and IR structure. I don't think we know the true extent of that lot yet. On extending the legal protections its pretty much the same not too much detail on that so i don't know. I do know i am ready so bring it on if necessary if not then i will have a jolly good time at the Cheltenham Festival in March

@jonjo I will tell you why- modernisation is now in place they got what they wanted now we are having back you paid for it not the public purse.

You see for sure that any initial buy back would be costly but as you say the other industries are easier to renationalise maybe the money used from the renationalised companies will be used against the renationalisation of RM if you get what i mean. The monopoly is irrelevant it was irrelevant when we were privatised and we didn't have the monopoly then. So it doesn't really make any difference if we have the monopoly or not.You say that being in public ownership would cost us jobs? I am sorry i don't follow how you reached that conclusion.

He will renationalise Royal Mail make absolutely no mistake we have a crystal clear assurance from him on this point the CWU were one of his biggest supporters when he was getting elected leader. @jonjo Strange isn't it that you get all high and mighty every now and then still makes a change from your normal abuse. JC will renationalise this industry make absolutely no mistake about that and don't fool yourself that it wont happen because it will that's a dead cert you can gamble on that if you like. They can afford it will be self financing maybe not initially but the profits long term will be going back to the people who own it the British public no divis to pay out twice a year as well it will be a nice little earner for the country. The point therefore is that the profits are used to lower costs of postage pay us a decent wage and invest in the company going forward that is the point. I will still be employed in ten years time mark my words i promise you that they cannot automate the delivery of a package or the collection can they so get real. I will tell you who has no say in this company and that is you lot the shareholders you don't have say in how its run you have no say in our terms and conditions of employment and you can do absolutely nothing at all about any industrial action we decide to take. So explain to me how you have any say at all in any way in how this company runs. As for the divi i don't believe shareholders should get anything and if you do then it is after we as employees have had our cut as will be the case when our double pay rises for this year and next year are delivered in a short while and remember Royal Mail did not want us to have a pay rise this year at all and now it will be an across the board rise. I honestly don't care about investors they are nothing more than gamblers if you truly value wealth so much invest in much safer options your nothing more than vultures and you bring absolutely nothing to the party. If pensioners are stupid enough to play Russian roulette with their money that's up to them more fool them if it goes belly up. As for me being in the past we will still be here for centuries to come stop dreaming and get over yourself. One final thing that you may want to ponder these machines you talk about we cant go no faster than them can we and for the first time ever in four decades it looks like we are not going to get the mail out or delivered on time that's your modernisation for you. Wait for the fines to come in every mail centre in the country is bursting with work that is not going to get delivered its an utter disgrace and disaster and this is because they wanted to save money. As for our pensions that's all sorted and we are well happy RM have gone along with our proposals and are running with them our pensions are protected and better than anything out there oh and by the way that is coming out of your final divi's so thanks for that as is our across the board pay rise for this year back dated to April and a further pay rise from April linked to a cut in hours. We have everything we want its just a matter of how this is drawn up now.
