Thanks zebarne Not sure this has anything to do with old staff but more to do with BA not paying new staff enough money and poor working practices. I also believe that this has more to do with McClusky trying to get himself re-elected and using pawns such as BA's MFcrew to help his own PR. I agree , I don't see a strike happening and IAG could cover it easily in any event. It doesn't put the management in good light though. After all, MF were to be the new future of BA following the last strike ! Doesn't look like it lasted very long.

Here we are again trying to break through the 450 resistance level It is interesting to note just how difficult it is finding it to push above 450 with any momentum.

With Qatar holding 20.1% of IAG, with the potential to increase further, it seems that they are also anticipating a positive outcome. I can't help but wonder though, what their intentions actually are ? GLA

Difficult to understand to be honest. EZJ is currently in positive territory while IAG is the opposite. I can only assume it is because of the absence of any positive news , although they have increased the dividend which should have helped. The terrorist thing is irrelevant I believe, as the threat is always there and no doubt always will be. The SP is substantially below where it should be IMO but needs positive news to give it a boost. I note, that one analyst is saying it may yet retrace back to support at 370 !! I hope not and personally think it may bounce heading towards year end reporting in February. BA have just lost 1000 crew to VR and will be replacing them with cheaper , 'new' crew. This will bring substantial savings in 2017 going forwards. As always DYOR. GLA

Thanks zebarne. Given that managers and pilots are in the scheme, it will be interesting to see what is announced tomorrow . I can't imagine that they will be happy with a final salary scheme being closed ?

I thought the 300m over 10 years had already been agreed. Given that , I don't understand the cessation of the final salary scheme, unless it is for new joiners ?

I guess the drop in the SP is answering my question.

It is really struggling to maintain a substantive break above 450. No idea why , as it should be well above this level.

The SP was up substantially until Hammond started to speak, then it fell consistently.
