JMO where did you see the trades ? Interesting to note though, that even with those trades , the SP is struggling. BA getting rid of 450 cabin crew heads via VR in the next few months and struggling to backfill the numbers from what I hear. This on top of their seat sale, sandwiches on short haul and Mars bars on long haul instead of breakfast ? you have to ask where they are going with this . Qatar have raised their stake but say they aren't going to be bidders , you have to wonder why ? If it is just because they think IAG is cheap, what will happen to the SP when they offload ? I am heavily invested here but think they are struggling for now.

Dbno The sandwich maker might have been a better bet than the latest wheeze from Messrs Walsh & Cruz. Going back 40 years to find new ideas is not the best strategy . Next they will be charging fro drinks again on Long haul flights ! Only positive here is Qatars 20.1% stake

3% drop in SP today , even whith BA all over the media with Paralympics returning. Looks like the new CEO's idea of M&S sandwiches on short-haul hasn't gone down well with Investors.

Show a steady downward trend since end December . As you say, the chart never lies , so I wonder where it will stop . Not sure this VR will make have immediate impact. Good luck

Industrial Action can take many forms and doesn't have to be a strike. The review system you refer to may have been in place across other departments for years but obviously it has not been in place with regard to crew, so has to be negotiated I suspect ? I don't know understand how you would have insider knowledge about the VR having a lot of interest ? Please can you explain. Also, VR will have an on cost for the business and any savings delivered will take time to filter through, so although cost positive, it may take some time to materialise. SP flat at the moment, could do with some positive news for an uptick.

Of course they didn't orchestrate Brexit . However, it was odd to come out with a profits warning the very day after Brexit, particularly given that WW siad Brexit would have little impact on the business ! (how wrong can he be). In addition, Qatar state they will be buying 10 % of Latam, a company that IAG agreed a JV with in January. Walsh appears to be welcoming the stake building by Qatar, which is also an odd situation for any CEO to be comfortable with. Given that Qatar are part of One World and a 20.1% shareholder in IAG and hold shares in other airlines, .......It makes it difficult to see how any of this can be in the interest of the consumer. I guess it would be analogous to the big four banks owning shares in each other. It really wouldn't and shouldn't be allowed. The only reason IAG get away with it at the moment , I suspect, is because they do not (as yet) hold and AOC.

Thanks Fuzzbox These figures are pretty pointless as far as I am concerned because what matters is how much these passengers are paying , not so much that you have carried more of them. In this instance for example, it is often the case that it is cheaper to buy a First class seat than a club seat if travelling with BA , you just need to research your travel plans. In addition, BA upgrade substantially these days because they work on 'Bums on seats', rather than leave with empty seats.. Consequently, you may have passengers in the seats but I come back to my point, how much did they pay for them ?

Well, if they have bought another 5% at these levels (circa 300m) they sure aren't planning to lose money on their investment. Seems a good reason to hold or increase to me ?

Hi Dan. I don't understand the need to increase their stake, to be able to encourage route sharing . After all, BA / IAG have goodness knows how many different types of agreement regarding code sharing , route sharing, partnerships, franchises etc etc without the need to stake build ? I cannot imagine Qatar increasing their investment, if they did not think they would make a profit from it . I notice on another forum, people are speculating that IAG could always float off BA but again I don't see the benefit , as Qatar would still retain a percentage of any floated entity. I agree regarding EU rules on ownership ( I think it is limited to 49%) but the question is , Which legal area does IAG fall under ? EU or UK ??

if it happens ? This rumour was kicking about a month or so ago and discounted as not happening. I have to ask though, IF qatar increase their position, what exactly is the reason for the increase ? IF they are not planning a full take over, why would they increase to 20% ? I note, that in the UK, if a person acquires 30% or more of the target's voting rights, they are required to make a mandatory offer. In Spain it is different.
