I never pay attention to then to be honest. Just DYOR . Uptick related to Heathrow announcement. I expect results to be positive but less than predicted and divi to be maintained which will also support the SP.

Apparently may is due to make an announcement about this on Tuesday / Wednesday. If she gives the go ahead, I would expect an uptick in the SP, although there will of course be a lot of resistance from local communities. In addition, it will take years for it to happen. 10 months ago this share was 610. Apart from Brexit , not a lot else has changed to cause the SP fall. Overdone IMO. GLA

JMO I have noticed, that IAG lags behind but appears to follow EYJ during the days trading. It doesn't always work of course, BUT generally if EYJ falls 2% (such as today) , then I expect IAG to follow . The same applies with an uptick. As always though, DYOR (I know you do ).

Both good bets but IAG the stringer one for me , as it has broader exposure . In addition, it is currently undergoing redundancies in crew and ground staff which will bring further cost savings in the year to come. I am no fan of BA management but if you look at the historical SP of IAG, it was above 600 circa December 2015. Brexit vote had a big impact on the SP but for no other reason than the expected impact. As yet, we have to see what Q3 will bring. I am expecting a slightly lower than forecast profit BUT still above 2B Long term positives for me .

EYJ shares are down due to the weakened pound, as airlines buy their fuel in US Dollars. However, IAG (BA) should not have the same problem as a lot of their passengers across the Atlantic , pay for their tickets in US Dollars. The vast majority of BA's profits come from North Atlantic traffic in Dollars, so this should help to offset the impact of the weakened pound, although not completely.

and this benefits the customer how ? Hmmmm let me think . All the airlines involved in Code sharing take a percentage of your money, no matter who you fly with, so where is the business case to encourage competition ? All it is doing is encouraging airlines NOT to compete with each other but instead, to codeshare.

So you order a Ford but end up getting a Renault. That's ok though because they both have four wheels and an engine and you ordered it with Ford !!! How they can possibly think that this encourages competition is beyond me !

So let me understand "On 19 August, British Airways announced a codeshare agreement with Shanghai-based carrier, China Eastern Airlines. " This means if you book a BA flight, you will actually be flying on Chine Eastern Airlines ! How on earth do they get away with this ?

Well, I am holding the stock because I have bought at lower levels than it is at present. I thought if it was good enough for the Qatari's why not ........ I know the company VERY well and the SP had a massive fall after Brexit, which it has not yet recovered from. Walsh famously stated that Brexit would not affect the company LOL Regarding load factors, I see them as pretty irrelevant . As I said earlier, they are flying reasonably full BUT at lower prices, therefore lower margins. Hence high load factors do not indicate increasing profits. Buffet doesn't invest in airlines and I only do because I have been following it for many many years. When it goes up, it tends to rise sharply but the same can be said of the falls. I am not convinced by the current management strategy BUT Qatar knows a lot more than I do and has invested a great deal more than me ........so I'll follow them for a while in the hope they know what they are doing. Of course this isn't always a good plan, they have lost big sums in the past but they tend to make more than they lose and I have some experience of them also. Ultimately I think we'll be ok JMO.

JMO The HL trades don't indicate if they are single trades, or automatic etc At the end of the day the SP dictates regardless of whether there are large or small trades. I am with you long term and looking for it to recover back above 500 , hopefully next year. It's all dependant on the figures of course. You say don't mind ther Mars bars BUT I am afraid it is all about bums on seats and increasing the margins. At the moment , the seats are filling because the ticket prices are cheap. Cheap prices mean small margins. Premium traffic has fallen and you can buy First seats cheaper than club ! I am not so sure that the current team can continue to deliver with ever shrinking margins . After all, you can only cut so much before it starts to hit the bottom line. As you say, let's see what comes on the 28/10 but early next year will be a better indicator. lastly even people with 26 million can be stupid LOL GLA
