I stand by my expectation that CARD will be able to mitigate these challenges and prosper. Certainly insofar as my own target price is concerned :) Time will tell and fingers crossed all the same.

Presumably some staff hours will be cut, prices will rise, those staff bonuses will be amended downwards accordingly and any other little perks altered, to make good this inflationary government policy and keep the books in order.

Revisiting and ensuring that their tax planning strategies are as efficient as possible, too. No doubt the CFO will already be working with the tax team to this end.

There will be micro consequences, but IMO nothing that the business should not be able to manage, to ensure their fiduciary duty to shareholders is met and continued profitability...continues :) AIMO & GLA.

Like I said earlier, uber bearish posters (especially when they suddenly spring up simultaneously somewhere) can be a useful contrary indicator, IMO.

Outright deceit should be dealt with, but I am uncomfortable with the risk that the authorities might end up throwing the baby out with the bathwater on this.

Better their efforts and attention focus on the BOD's, especially on AIM. Where it might be best placed on some occasions I think.

Many posters (myself included) have shared thoughts on occasions that might be misconstrued as being of that type. It happened to me only the other day on a different chat board. One that I already held a position in (and still do).

These chat board communities are useful (and enjoyable!) on so many levels, but will become worthless if a wide degree of latitude and benefit of the doubt, no longer remains the default position.

IMO, we already have far too much state overreach. And the default position of adults should be individual responsibility. Always.

Anyway, dividend in the pipes and hopefully some more positive market sentiments in the weeks ahead, which will hopefully offset the ex div malaise that often affects stocks at that time.

I remain hopeful of my target here, as shared previously, and subject to the obvious caveats, am happy to wait patiently to this end.

Anyway, there you go. And I cannot see a scenario where it would not be waived. Because AOP continues to hold all of the cards here and are like a python and the company, its prey. AIMO, naturally.

As the RNS's of that time demonstrate, it was a reluctant bid, driven by compulsory regulation.

Quite an unusual scenario, as I remember at the time, where neither AOP or the BOD were encouraging shareholders to accept the offer.

Anyway, not sure if a waiver procedure would apply in the event that they hit 50% holding in these circumstances.

Don't take my word for it, because I could easily be wrong. Best to ask the company direct for clarification.

Neither am I, but I have friends in the profession who I have discussed a range of topics/cases with over the years...and regularly have heard entirely different opinions on the same cases/judgements!

Such is the nature of that game I guess.

Because I do not agree with the substance of the judgement, insofar as I do not view the payments as having been secret and therefore not in breach of the legislation in question. Historic or recent.

But it is not in our hands, so it will come down to those who do.

If the SC overturns this, then it could be an amazing opportunity, but that is not going to be a quick process.

Not much the company can do in the meantime either, so they seem to be a hostage until then. Have not looked at the technicals yet for potential trades though.

If they show the US production issues are resolved, then IMO we will enjoy a good re-rate here and then a t/o might be feasible.

Predators do not tend to gamble. They are happy to bid much higher for a stock where issues are likely to be in the rear view mirror, rather than speculate beforehand and thus at a much lower price.

So, as far as those types of traders/investors go, probably not many.

As far as big money/II's: absolutely no issue. They will be entirely dispassionate about it. They are the ones that tend to move the dial anyway, so hopefully we will see them add more or come onboard in the weeks ahead.

Deja vu once again: First goal is 61.63p (50 DMA). 76.44p is the big one though.

If we can break and hold above that one in the coming weeks, then I do not think a run up to circa 90p would be excessive.

This one has form for such sprints. But equally, baby steps first. And no counting chickens, because as always, lots of macro stuff can derail anything. US election soon too. GLA.

The chance of a bid has increased significantly now, IMO.
