Errr, I have to strongly disagree with you on both points.

There is night and day difference between traditional shorting and naked shorting; and nothing wrong whatsoever with the former. No, I am not a shorter, nor ever have been. But I do not have a problem with it in principle.

As to people posting negative comments...do you mean any criticisms or the blatant boiler room type stuff?

If you mean either, you would have me thrown in clink, even for stocks where I am a long term holder, lol. And a good many others on these chat boards too.

Better to direct your anger towards the dodgy and/or dishonest or incompetent BODs of various companies IMO. Plenty on AIM quite frankly. A fair number on the main indices too.

It really is quite simple: if a company delivers on its guidance, manages costs, builds and retains a profitable operation, then shorts lose. Because institutions and PI's will put their faith (and their cash!) into said companies. And will buy up more of the free float if they feel the proposition remains unchanged, even if the SP goes down/shorts increase.

As to the poster who said the BOD should be doing something: what can they do at this point?

They have set out their position, they have built a fairly sizeable war chest and presumably they are working hard behind closed doors to protect the business as best they can.

Not sure what else they can do right now, absent any new information to share in the public domain.

Hopefully the update justifies today's rally.

I agree with BCS on the TA potential support levels, while also agreeing to a point with the views of PP.

Hence why I am still holding (albeit with a lower price target than him, as I am less bullish on a 150p scenario as mentioned the other day).

The chart and the trend is currently horrible. It tends to pay to respect the trend IMO, so I have a buy order in place for low 70's at the time of print.

If it does not hit, that would be fine too. At some point this little critter has got to find a bottom, lol. GLA.

Given the BB's, you would have thought that at some point we are surely going to see a TR-1, because this simply cannot mainly be PI selling, over however long now.

I have buy orders set for low 320's. Unless the update is abysmal, then I would be surprised if we dropped much further than that.

Not least because the BB's will chomp a fair few, I would imagine.

If that level does not hold, we could be looking around 305p-ish perhaps.

Those inside sells we saw over the past few weeks have absolutely got my guard up though, so I cannot say I am particularly confident about tomorrow.

But, let us take the positive scenario: good numbers and cautiously bullish forward guidance....4 quid in a flash and onto my target exit price within a week or so. Hopefully, lol :)

Speak for yourself. The welfare state would be absolutely fine if everyone only claimed any assistance/benefits that they genuinely needed, rather than taking, or trying to take, because they were 'entitled' to it.

Ultimately, we need to get back to the default mindset of the deserving and undeserving poor.

Ideally not going so far as to reinstall a culture of shame in receiving any charity...but the pendulum has swung far too far in the past 30 years or so, and needs to be significantly recalibrated.

No guarantees of course, but I retain confidence that this name will yield a profit for me at some point.

They need to come in as per guidance, and ideally in the higher range.

How the economy looks at that point is another factor of course, but one that is out of their control.

Continuing to bring down debt, and showing that they have mitigated the rise in labour and other costs, is entirely within their control. And which, as I have said before, is why they get paid the big bucks. They need to show it is justified.

I disagree with the poster who thinks this is a structurally failing business model.

I think - if it is properly managed - it is the type of business that can (and should) do well in all economic seasons.

US election result and then the FED the day after is either going to take the indices down further, or perhaps another surge to the upside.

Fine for trading (well, except the exceptional dogs, like this one, perhaps, lol). But agree with you, insofar as investing in AIM goes.

Anyway, over a few tranches and a little time, I have now freed myself from my last AIM investment.

Possibly having saved the worst till last, albeit this one has not gone bust yet, so to be confirmed on that front of course.

If this one comes good, then it might be the biggest surprise of my life. Certainly as far as the stock market stuff goes.

This continues to give the impression of a BOD that is eeking out every last penny of cash in the bank.

I guess they will try to get another raise away before then, but whether anyone would be willing to support this lot with even some pocket change, is another matter.

The lack of...well anything, for months now, and not a fresh deal in sight (let alone a conclusion on Stal) really underpins this negative view, IMO.

Interesting work for the scientists, I have no doubt, but that is as far as it goes.

Given BOD salaries in this space, and given the lack of anything commercial spanning many years now, it is an absolute joke.

But I wish those remaining good fortune. I will no doubt look in from time to time, until the day where they either actually do something that is financially positive, or are unable to keep the lights on.

Do not misunderstand me when I say I would be delighted if something like that happened...but I think those kinds of numbers are very optimistic at this stage.

Even if they achieve guidance, unless their forward projections are extremely bullish (and/or the US update is a big hit), then I think the key shareholders would be willing to consider a lower offer than that.

I think 120p-ish would be very interesting to observe the reaction to, if one were to be forthcoming before the next set of results.

While I took the view of planning on waiting for my recently mentioned price target, the lack of confirmed audit sign off at the time of print (which I thought would have been published by now), coupled with a lack of inside buying since the last RNS, means I have exited earlier.

I mean it might be, who knows? Time will tell. But the Blackrock reduction does not suggest they think that, otherwise they would have been out of here PDQ, not reducing by such a small percentage as the RNS today shows.

I have that buy order in the pipes, as I think I mentioned on here fairly recently, along with where I think the next level of support might be (cannot remember off the top of my head). Mid 60's I think I said?
