I love the concept of crypto currencies and would not consider myself tribal in terms of the PM space either.

However, having listened to a wide range of intelligent and successful investors in the past few years...the lack of consensus on cryptos, by people far smarter than me, crypto bulls and bears, has led me to keeping away from that space.

Ultimately, I still cannot understand how something that is basically digital code, nothing more, can reliably retain value.

Or indeed even how one can ascribe a value to it, beyond simply someone being willing to pay you more for it than you paid, sooner or later.

There is nothing, even in the digital darling (Bitcoin), that cannot be replicated, or even improved upon, that I can see.

So I keep coming back to the conclusion of it being the greater fool theory.

But trading it along those lines has been very profitable for some and looks like continuing, for some time to come.

So I certainly would not criticise or mock those who choose to do so.

Sure, but for an investment, rather than a potential short term trade, debt matters.

If they buy TTG, short of the scenario I jokingly posted the other day, then they are going to be under an uncomfortable weight of debt IMO.

The list of once great names, far bigger and longer established than this one, that made a bad acquisition and went under, or continued to hobble along, a shell of what they once were, is not that short.

Brushing off these concerns - if said acquisition comes to pass - would represent a rookie error.

But let's revisit this if applicable.

I never claimed to be a LTH here and in my first post I said I represented weak hands, depending on how the TTG matter played out.

Agree with your 88p though and this was around the price I alluded to early doors today as one potential buy order I had in mind.

Having taken a flurry of tranches in that lower range this morning, I decided to offload the lot when it struggled to hold that 99p-ish level at the third or fourth time of asking.

No doubt now I have sold, it will glide effortlessly above a quid and never look back, but with the US opening fairly soon, I am not sure that we have seen the bottom yet.

I think if it was going to happen, it would have been during, or certainly shortly after, the investor call.

And I agree the chart to me suggests further downside from here.

If I am right, I will pick some back up lower down. If not, a small profit is better than nothing and more cash to deploy elsewhere. GLA.

Always a risk buying the day before an update. But I can see why some did - the SP was hardly looking frothy at that time.

Anyway, in the short term, a lot rests on how that call goes later this morning and whether we see strong inside buying in the next couple of days.

Getting close to my second buy order triggering, by the looks of things.

At some point, I see that 110p-ish gap is going to be filled. Might not be for a while though, but subject to the obvious caveats, I am satisfied to be back in this name again. GLA.

While I am unsure of the short term (and agree with F-F about the possible downside in the next few months), I have retaken a small, opening position. Got another buy order in the pipes and will add some more if we see 80's.

I can see nothing in the financial calendar for JD tomorrow, but will take the words of the posters here that it is otherwise.

I have been on the sidelines, but keeping a casual eye on this name.

IMO, it will have to be a very good update, with equally strong forward guidance, to avoid a red day, based on how the wider markets are currently faring, but I do like this one, so will be at the ready for the RNS and will take a view then.

Might have missed the boat of course, but you cannot win them all. GLA.

When the apple cart is contaminated with an increasing number of rotten produce, then something needs to be done, or the whole cart will become worthless :)

Not that I think the incoming US administration will actually be nearly as radical as some of you seem to think, but time will tell.

It is a shame when people cannot share opinions and disagree/challenge others, without triggering some. Or being accused of being a short etc.

Poker is a cantankerous so and so now and again, but he knows how to read a balance sheet and get into the nitty gritty of (quite often) fairly opaque financial statements.

Which is quite a common feature of mid-sized and larger corporates.

Less important for those seeking a quick turn/trend trade/technical trade, but really quite essential I would say, for those who are looking at X stock from an investment angle.

Anyway, as I often say, these chat boards get very boring, very quickly, without a wide spectrum of ideas and opinions.

And there really are some extremely knowledgeable and experienced people who kindly share some of their stuff on here too.

A shame not to keep an open mind to both bull and bear thesis's, but to each their own. GLA.
