Lol. They might have shone a light on some of the more unsavoury stuff that is happening in their country and globally, but in this particular geographic example, the direction of travel was not hard to predict. Especially when NM died.
And the amount of money that was thrown at SA to help with the transition...the full scope of it will probably never be known. But perhaps it was always inevitable and this only delayed it somewhat.
Either way, it is now beyond reasonable doubt (for all but the deluded anyway, who probably suffer from Stockholm Syndrome, lol).
Cannot time this stuff perfectly of course, so it might still be a few years off, and hopefully regime change will occur before it turns into a full basket case.
That would be ideal for everyone, especially the locals, of course. But the same sentiment applied to Zim, and only a complacent fool would entirely discard something similar happening in SA, when just recent stuff has demonstrated the direction of travel and other unsettling similarities.
But to each their own. And not something that I want to be proved right about. GLA.
