Good update, I agree, although I want to see how the market reacts. Especially in relation to net debt being slightly above expectations.

In a bullish market, I would anticipate a strong rise in the SP. In the current climate, maybe an initial dip below 150p, finishing flat or slightly up at the close?

I cannot see a major buying only 2% of a micro cap stock in order to stay under the reporting threshold. I would be staggered if it was that. The SP did not collapse based on the date SG passed the reporting threshold either, so an orderly sale, or off book maybe? No idea, just trying to think it through logically.

Sand Grove, from distant memory, have increased and also decreased their position here by small amounts now and again in the past, and not for any reason that was clear to me back then. So it could just be them shuffling the decks, so to speak.

I see it was a high volume day today, so not sure if they were further reducing, or if it was other sellers. If they issue another RNS in the next few days, that would be more logical, based on the price action today.

But you also need to keep in mind that a lot of outfits got sold off today, so it might be nothing company-specific.

Not really, no. It was always on the cards IMO. And to an extent, I think the markets already priced that in. The West needs to resolve the issues in the Red Sea. And I think they will. Macro landscape remains dreadful, as I continue to say on these various chat boards. But it will play out as it will. Trade the markets, not the macro. And try not to dwell on the bigger picture scenarios. It may never happen. And if it does, well, all the more reason to open another bottle of fairly decent red today. Not advice to drink, DYOR etc :)

I think we need to see the VIX at multiples of the level today to put Kipling's maxim to the test, but when that actually happens....is for smarter people than me to determine.

We are not at that point, whatsoever.

Debt free (or as good as), hefty balance sheet, decent dividend on x2 minimum, then buy backs can be something to ponder. Otherwise, the chief beneficiaries are the BOD, typically. AIMO.

I guess it is just not my bag. I come from a world where high achievement = high remuneration. Low or medium achievement = P45.

I was going to say I hope you took profits here, but given the VIX is currently sub 13, even after that US inflation print miss, and I now find myself lost for words! Logic would suggest a down day for tomorrow (market-wide, not BARC specific) but quite frankly, more likely upside in this Alice in Wonderland world :) GLA.

I agree that the QT cycle is almost certainly over. The inflation trend is absolutely not lower though. Far too early to call that one, IMO.

A blip? I hope so. If they move the goals posts to 3% inflation target, then that would probably be more achievable than 2% (as long as we all forget the mandate of average 2% inflation, ahem).

I think they look at the bond market primarily (the two year especially, and to a point, the ten year), but I could be doing them a disservice.

Anyway, we held up well today. Just need the management to right their wrongs and make no further missteps. The next update will tell us more. GLA.

I did the same, for the same purpose, although before the CPI print. Even though I anticipated a hot number.

Because if I had been wrong and it had been a positive print, this one IMO would have moved quite quickly to the 200 DMA and over it, within the next few weeks, towards my target exit price.

Now I expect to have the chance to buy more at new year lows, within the same period of time. Hey ho. GLA.

I do not think so Jonny. We printed a new low (even if it was only a tiny one).

If we stay above 110p for the next few trading days - without printing any further lows - then IMO we might have found a floor for the time being.

I think I will get my 107p filled in that period, FWIW, but like I said before, I would be happy enough not to get the chance and would indeed be delighted to see a strong reversal instead.

But as long as you are not trading on margin, have the patience and most importantly retain confidence in the business, then such potential movements need not concern you, IMO.

And be mentally prepared for a further price drop too, so if it happens (and of course it may not), then you will not be taken by surprise.
