My point was simply not to depend on government support/public money. Not drawing any other comparisons, merely giving two examples/cautionary tales of what can happen when a listed company does.

Well, I remember another AIM company putting their faith in getting government support and funding.

Shareholders were either misled by the CEO and wider BOD, or the CEO/BOD were misled by the then Tory government. The result was the same for shareholders regardless. And seemingly no consequences for anyone all the same.

There is a company right now that is in the process of Chapter 11. For anyone who is interested in doing a little digging, I am sure it will not take you long to find out who, and the background history.

Not one of mine, but I have followed it with interest for a while and view it as perhaps another object lesson in not depending on government support.

My experience in the AIM one I mention above, actually stopped me from taking a position in that name, even though it looked very promising before the current administration. Gut feeling paid off on that occasion. Might be worth a punt after it rebirths, not decided yet.

Point is, MKA needs to just be careful IMO. And that was mainly why I really wanted Songwe sold.

Maybe the geopolitics is a safer bet now than then. Time will tell. Anyway, GLA.

I think it will be adequate, with cautious forward guidance (entirely reasonable corporate behaviour, in this climate) - and then it comes down to whether you back the BOD in the next 12-24 months or so, or not.

I like their tax planning ideas personally (as per the last update I think it was). I agree with wanting to see debt come down, but capacity for BB's could also be useful, as long as it does not impact on the dividend. Something that I think most investors here care about the most. GLA.

If this was a mature company, I would suggest the chart looks very interesting right now.

We have certainly seen some decent volume over the past week or so.

But TA rarely seems to play out effectively in micro or nano caps, so I am not pinning my colours to that particular mast on this occasion.

Some people have these at a 10p average or lower (not me sadly, lol).

So in those cases, this is a pretty chunky dividend, although for most people, it was/is inconsequential to the investment/trade case. As they have averages closer to the current price.

The question is, with the price action over the past couple of months or so, has this already been priced in?

I think it is too early to say whether the outflows are coming to an end, and thus better times shortly ahead, or if this is a temporary 'pause' of sorts.

I'm with Musk on the sentiment that you can have big, or you can have beautiful, but you cannot have both. Certainly insofar as government activity.

My opinion remains unchanged about JD as a durable brand and business, but I took a few quid profit today, slightly earlier than my planned exit price.

Yeah, I think the gains tend to be bigger when the trend is intact (which I think was your point), but I have salvaged many a position when it has turned out to be a declining entity, or in a downtrend. But again, only when said entity remains of reasonable quality, not a hopium play or similar.

So we probably agree more than we disagree on that point overall.

I certainly hope this one is not in the same risk/reward category as MIRI. How long left of their cash runway now after their last raise? But sure, those ones can indeed go on a crazy run, but that is apples and pears stuff.

Buying the dip with these types of highly speculative, micro and nano caps, is almost always a terrible idea.

Speaking from experience, lol.

The only exceptions that I can think of (and this does not always play out even then, to be clear) is when you see massive inside buying. Own pocket purchases, not a bunch of freebies, with low to zero strike prices, or credible conditions attached etc.

However, IMO and again from my experience, buying the dip in quality or fairly good quality names, more often than not does work out well.

So I think it is very important to differentiate on that point.

Whether buying the dip will prove a good idea in this particular example, only time will tell. But I can certainly see no logical premise for doing so at the time of print.

If the CEO puts his hand in his pocket and buys £50K or more, or takes his wages in stock, rather than cash, then that would make me pause for thought. GLA.

There has been complacency/borderline euphoria for a while now though.

Compare the economic data here, Europe and across the Pond...in fact pretty much everywhere, even India of late, with the various stock indices.

We have definitely seen this movie before, but as the saying goes, you keep going until the music stops, because otherwise you might miss a lot of good songs, and the chance to bust some funky shapes :)

Valid comment, IMO. Although you would think it highly unlikely for the update to be materially outside of previous guidance - and ultimately the market will take a view on forward guidance anyway - we cannot entirely dismiss the risks.

Especially with a childish commie sympathising government at the helm. Someone should take their crayons away from them, because they cannot be trusted not to draw on the furniture, lol.

Anyway, I took a few more on the drop and have a couple more small buy orders in the pipes a bit lower down. I think I will end up with a few more by the announcement, which is fine by me. GLA.
