However, what you describe is the same argument I remember hearing back at school. A good many years ago now.

It was never described as a ponzi scheme, which it should have been. Nor any focus placed at least on the idea of a 'like for like' immigration policy, if indeed such permanence is/was ever required. A look to nations in the ME shows no such compulsion.

But say it was. All the data points towards a significant gulf in quality/contribution (not to mention crime stats) according to different demographics. So I am not sure where you get your alternative take on such data. And anyway, why should we take the rough with the smooth?

This attitude is why we are in this mess, although always enjoyable to have a free and frank debate.

Something that hopefully does not fall foul of current or pending laws...

A bit like in Germany, where the establishment parties, who are entirely responsible for what has happened to their country, including the staggering increase in violent crimes, continue to get elected by the same cohort of society (the grey vote).

I would have a good deal more sympathy for our own grey voters, and their precarious future pension status, if they too stopped voting for the same here.

It will certainly be interesting to see if that does happen, if it will be a case of whoever you vote for, you always get the government.

Or if this time would be different.

Unless they pledge to remove substantial amounts of existing and recent legislation from the statute book, then it will IMO very much be a case of a continuity candidate/government. Likewise if they flood the party with loads of lib/lab/con people, IMO.

Yeah. Need to decide whether to trade my way out of this one, or simply take the loss and move on.

Glad I only retained a small position here, and resisted the temptation to add in the run up to these results, as I sometimes do.

IMO, the positives are comfortably outweighed by the negatives. Those who supported the last raise must be feeling somewhat miffed right now.

I think there are a few outfits right now that might benefit from some boardroom changes. I am struggling to see how this is not one of them.

Is this a viable investment for the longer term, or will it become one of those entities where only the leadership team, the accountants and the lawyers etc make any money here?

Struggling to see how this one has such poor cost controls as well. In the circumstances, they need to take some fairly drastic steps now, but should have dealt with this previously, and before the issue became more significant, IMO.

The good news is the SP is back in the previous channel. But not convinced the threat of a sub 2 quid revisit has gone yet.

And no inside buying is hardly a ringing endorsement, is it?

So, while I am tempted to add a few more and average down here, I am sitting on my hands for now.

Hopefully they will get an offer that finds its way into the public domain.

Must be of potential interest to one or more outfits that could probably do a better job of harnessing the potential here, than the current BOD seems capable of.

Meh. The brand is strong. With better leadership, I think the performance (and profit margins) would be much better.

But as always, as long as the big shareholders are satisfied, then it is what it is.

I took a few more myself on that drop and will probably add as/when/if it revisits the 15's in a new (lower) trading range.

I read the CARD update and thought it would probably have a minus 5% or so day. I liked the acquisition news, but thought it masked a few other things.

Market feels otherwise, which is fair enough.

Anyway, on the fence as to whether I should trade myself out of this one, or give it more time.

Will give it some reflection...and will also see if the CEO wants to put her hand in her pocket, now the window to do so is open.

It would be nice if she showed the self confidence of the BME new CEO, but even a couple of hundred £K's worth of share purchases would suffice. 10% of her compensation, more or less, I think?

Not sure if the markets will have already priced this in fully.

Key thing for me is whether or not the next update shows improvement.

I certainly do not think the CEO should see an uplift in her remuneration off the back of this latest update, and IMO the jury remains out on whether or not a boardroom shake up needs to happen to facilitate improvement.

This remains, IMO, a terrific business, which this update does not change. But I would love to know what the key shareholders think. Perhaps we will find out in the coming weeks.

Be mindful that some might dump their placing shares in the days that follow on.

That scenario does not influence me personally, for reasons previously cited, but for the sake of balance and sincerity, it cannot be ruled out.

Anyway, more importantly, lets hope for a fruitful journey in the weeks and months ahead! GLA.

That is not a bad strategy. In fact, I would say my own is closer to that now, versus a few years ago, when I was an investor primarily, who did the odd swing or trend trade.

Guess which strategy worked best and which one lost me money? Lol. Both for AIM stocks and real outfits (albeit IMO for AIM, it should be entirely for dating, not marrying, as I heard quoted elsewhere once).

It was not a criticism. It was genuine. You have got the measure of this name, which has provided some good swing trade opportunities over the years.

None of which I have benefited from, lol.

I cannot overcome the feeling that, sooner or later, the market is going to run out of patience here, and then no more swing trades.

But perhaps not until the family silver is all gone, and then the cost of further dilution becomes truly ruinous. And quick. Seen that happen before with other AIM names.

And of course, maybe this one will be different and actually generate meaningful revenue and non-derisory, consistent profit as well, before the above happens.

Then ordinary shareholders will only have to worry about whether they will actually start to see some return on their investment here, or if it will all be gobbled up in increased corporate overheads of one sort of another, or taken private for buttons.

Anyway, bullish opinions exist as well of course, and I will leave the stage for them now. Echo chambers are of no value on these chat boards. GLA.

Tempted to add a few more, but the chart gives me absolutely no indication of what might be expected tomorrow.

So just going to hold and take a view tomorrow, but I would stay on the sidelines if I was not already in here, given the above.

Either way, I still fancy an upturn at some point, just not sure if we need more pain (and perhaps new leadership) prior to then. GLA.

IMO, it was never worth 13 quid, but even allowing for the current challenges/management question marks, it is still worth more than 2-odd quid.

But bears can rightly point to a lack of inside buying so far, and I would certainly not dispute that either.

Time passes quickly in the world of stock markets, so, in what will feel like the blink of an eye, we will find out either way. GLA.

But....but....but! Lol. It seems to be quite unusual for a new investor/trader to look beyond the most recent RNS or accounts.

They always sound positive. The one good thing about such a low base, is how significant the percentage increase in profit sounds, lol.

I added a few more as well, even though I do not like buying higher than previous purchases typically (in this case, 220's).

I am backing the CEO to deliver.

However, in the short to medium term (however one defines that, lol) I am backing a partial or full gap fill, from a TA perspective.

So, if all goes to plan, a solid profit on the bulk in that range, with a few to run/book mark holding, to potentially keep as an investment.

I was not surprised with the FT article the other day. Confirmation bias I suppose, as I never expected them to put forward a concrete bid at the initially proposed price. Based on the SP action in the last couple of days prior to suspension.

But the BOD have no choice but to try and dig themselves out of this hole, as they clearly cannot bank on any offer. Certainly not one that many shareholders are likely to support, based on the views of some here anyway.

Like a few others, I am surprised that they still have not published the outstanding necessaries. I keep thinking it must be any day now! GLA.

That very much depends on the future custodianship though.

IMO, this should be a 4 quid stock in a weak market, double that in a strong economic climate.

The CEO soon needs to demonstrate that he is up to the task.

My reasons for initially buying here are basically unchanged, albeit with a strike against management now. Well, it will be two strikes, if we do not see proper inside buying shortly.

If the management team is halfway good, this bump in the road will lead to a medium term payoff, IMO. Potentially sooner, if we get M&A interest or massive inside buying.

But it is by no means a no-brainer right now and question marks are growing.

I have plenty of dry powder ready to deploy here, but the management need to lead the way. GLA.
