OK - this post is something that we can broadly agree on.

We probably have a difference of opinion on this as well (me somewhat bullish, you seemingly bearish), but at least it is civil and more within the spirit of these chat boards.

I was in the process of meticulously outlining exactly why each of your statements of fact were actually false, while looking to fact check the 18% stat you cited. Which was the only one that I might not have been able to disprove. Or perhaps is one that involves smoke and mirrors.

But then I thought, you probably know this. You resort to modern McCarthyism in your very first sentence - attempts, often successful, in shutting down legitimate debate and opinions, by throwing out egregious and false slurs.

I should not have risen to your goady post. I am sure you do not actually believe all that, or you would have offered a far more well-rounded and accurate list of the pros and cons of the topic in hand. For business, the UK economy and perhaps wider society.

I am tempted to do so myself but think that if you do indeed believe all that you last wrote, then no amount of evidence, perhaps even with your own eyes, could lead you to a change of sentiment. So let the cards fall as they will.

UK markets will recover if we get the right changes in the political establishment in the next few years, although we do not have that much more time left before the patient becomes terminal, IMO.

Even if the invasion continues unabated, this one will still be standing after a few others have folded IMO. Although it will not offer much comfort to us Brits in such an event. Still, best to be positive and back ourselves to reverse the betrayal.

Who is your broker? Probably best to contact them. I was not holding here for the most recent dividend, so cannot help beyond suggesting that some pay quicker than others.

I was, back when it went on that big run up.

It was hardly unique though. These types of outfits often do. Before crashing and burning, diluting the living daylights out of their shareholders on the way back down.

If memory serves correct, it was 'shovel ready' Dundas that was the primary reason for that big historic rise.

Late 2017/early 2018 ish I think?

Still waiting on that to bear fruit, and not sure how you can blame the one who replaced him in the interim. He has been in the seat for the vast majority of the time!

But putting that aside, you seem to be a big fan of Rod. So presumably not one of the LTH's, for whom retaining a similar size of stake in this business would have required a significant regular cash top up, just to stand still.

I'm sorry Roger, but that is simply not certain to be true.

By all means highlight the risks that you see (which you have repeatedly, lol) - I can see many potential risks myself - but to declare that 'numerous placings will come before any decent news' is a statement that needs challenging, especially when you do not even add 'IMO' to it.

I think that they will have to demonstrate some good progress, and probably some decent news too, if they want to get away another raise that is widely participated in.

I have a small position here because I think that they will. But we will see soon enough and I make no recommendations in any direction. GLA.

This is yet another example of why the solution to all problems is less government, not more.

I am no fan of any politician, and that includes him (at least until the client list gets released in full and all those promised arrests follow), but it is enjoyable watching him make our weak, quisling politicians squirm.

I think at best this is a 'neutral' update, all metrics considered.

Still quite expensive on fundamentals, and a long way off showing they have turned the corner, IMO.

Tempted to make a joke about her and her band of marxist-leaning buddies not being able to stimulate a horny so and so, but not sure if that might risk triggering that latest piece of CCP-esque legislation. So I will not.

I think we are probably generally of the same mindset, but just not sure that the cheaper money play will work this time around. Or for long enough to buy them some time to get enough of the gullible voters to give them a second term anyway. Which IMO is the only thing they truly care about.

I will start listening to the IMF if they suggest the UK needs to cut public spending by at least 30% and preferably closer to 40%.

A while ago, I heard of Target or Walmart stores (I think) across the Pond in some of the worst areas for theft, simply closing down.

And local politicians and residents complaining about the lack of access to food and medicine as a result.

No mention about the behaviour of too many in their communities that was the reason for this commercial decision.

But I could easily see something similar happening in parts of the UK...with a similar response from the same.

I would rather see robust law and order applied myself, which would render shrinkage a redundant phrase, and reduce the risk of store closures. Not to mention improve things for the shareholders of retailers that suffer from soft law and order.
