toneman, your synopsis of CWR missed the second of today's announcements - that of the MOU with Korea's biggest shipbuilder for use of their fuel cell stack. That is potentially what drove the share price rise, rather than the share placement and results.

Mucksy, I read that National Grid RNS when it was published this morning, and I'm afraid I don't quite get what their pivot is all about. Concentrating on electricity and reducing the emphasis on gas is straightforward enough, but then they muddy the water by talking about getting more involved in Hydrogen? Surely as a gas grid company, they have the infrastructure to get very involved in H2, but as part of their gas business rather than as part of their electricity business? Yes, they can use their electricity assets to create the H2, but surely, once created, its main place is in their gas business?

Yes, indeed another very good article! ...but why do all of these articles continue to gloss over the electrolyser question? Surely whoever produced the electrolyser would be keen to share in the glory? This is increasingly strange...

The MACE announcement does seem to have helped us break out of the recent trend of being stuck at 10% of the ITM price, as the sector moves up and down, so hopefully the next upward sector swing will be from a 50p base for AFC rather than a 45p one.

Taskmaster, of course, it may be significant that Serbia is including both the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine and the Russian Sputnik vaccine in their roll-out...

Surely we also have to take into account the water used to make the H2 in an electrolyser in the first place? The fuel cell is only half the system here.

Interesting suggestions. The refit converted the engines from heavy marine oil to low-sulphur marine diesel, which will help (although possibly raise NOx output).

Perhaps, but Extreme E must have committed an awful lot of up-front cash to get this whole thing off the ground, a long time before seeing any return income, so it's quite understandable if going the whole-hog and converting St Helena was just a financial step too far for now.

But as ever it leaves one asking "What is it that this company really does?". I'd love to hear the CEOs "elevator pitch", because I'd struggle to get the huge range of activities across in a succinct way. And if I wasn't bought-in to the whole process, I'd be asking just how credible can a small company be across all these areas of expertise?!

Oldtramp, that's an interesting quote, but I guess it can be read either way. TPG could be supplying a whole integrated system, but it doesn't necessarily mean that all the component parts are TPG products. I think we are seeing this more and more in this sector, where it is never quite clear who's components are going into the supplier's branded box. (Those following AFC/ExtremeE will recognise a similar debate over the question of who's electrolyser is producing the H2 for the AFC fuel cell in the AFC containerised unit).

Certainly we never seem to see much mention of TPG as actual manufacturers of electrolysers or fuel cells.

Yes, my understanding was that TPG are bringing the systems integration and software expertise to this, rather than any of the electrolysis or fuel cell hardware, but happy to be corrected if anyone knows more.

Trader, I think you are imagining things. You simply have no way of knowing whether the trades that are registered after hours are bought repeatedly by a single buyer (or indeed whether any individual trade is related to a single buyer rather than a summary of a number of deals by an individual broker over the course of the day). Nor do you have any way of knowing whether big sales are subsequently being drip fed through the day. ITM is a high-profile share (in AIM terms) and is held in significant volumes (but not reportable percentages) by a number of major players.

So, relax, it's simply all part and parcel of the day-to-day business of the stock market.

I was trying repeatedly while it was below 42.5 but couldn't get a deal to go through on HL.

Babyboom, while the actual wording will be revealed in the Finance Act, the existing info suggests that the exclusion would only apply for contracts actually entered into before 3rd March 2021. Planned expenditure would be acceptable.

But worth noting that the general s46 exclusions in the current legislation will apply which, for example, would seem to rule out someone like Aggreko ordering a pile of Hydrogen powered generators for lease to third parties.

It's a hold for me, too, but investments need to be flexible and people can be expected to buy and sell for lots of very good reasons that are unrelated to the current share price. As for me, I will need to realise slightly more cash from my portfolio in the forthcoming year than I will get from natural yield alone, so I will be selling part of one of my holdings. Its unlikely to be part of my TPG holding, but it will have to come from somewhere and in all probability whatever I sell will be at a price that is lower than my optimistic hopes for upside potential.

Radius, I'd be guessing months rather than weeks and perhaps not by May. There was an implication that TPG would sound out other bidders as well as doing the in-house sums. I would want them to make sure they get full value and not rush the process. Slightly worrying, though, that share price is down despite the potential for a major asset sale.
