Share buyback announced with 971,309,753 (48,565,487) shares in issue on 27 June 2023, buyback shall not exceed 97,410,000 (4,870,500) shares.

This morning 47,788,726 (955,774,520) shares in issue.

Only 776,761 current shares bought back so far, still a lot of freedom for DEC to buyback. "Programme will expire at the earlier date of the 30 June 2024 or the Company's 2024 AGM."

"Shares repurchased under the Programme shall not exceed an aggregate market value of £97.4 million" at least don't need to worry about this part :)

Now now notrex, the buybacks have been a joke recently and I'm very pro buyback. Even yesterdays buybacks only started after 3:30pm!! I'm guessing this was after Rusty or someone else on the BoD spoke to the broker. I'm hopeful they bought A LOT more today, will be interesting to see tomorrow.

Closed period though until at least January trading statement I'm guessing, so we unfortunately won't see any director buys (I'm hopefully wrong).

DEC has been gearing up got such a methane tax for a while. But I don't see how it can pass when the Dems don't control both chambers of government.

Today's drop really is a joke, the BoD really need to do something. Enough liquidity to do a tender offer for 20% of the company with a premium.

I believe they were all newly acquired by DEC at the time. Guessing the cost doesn't include the salary of the staff of course lol.

What's wrong with that bit damofarl? That's what DEC said they spent with the wells that Bloomberg highlighted in there hit piece.

Sounds awesome SpArmada, DEC will have a lot opportunities to potentially buy some distressed producers.

Meanwhile DEC has natural gas as of 30 September ~80% hedged at $3.31/Mcf for 2024, what a great premium if you're correct.

SpArmada, That would mean DEC's market cap is around $450m.

Are you just totally ignoring the sold 5% of producing assets for $200m announced less than an hour ago for any reason? Plus the fact DEC has most of its gas sales hedged.

They most likely wouldn't fill the offer billynm even with a 20% which is probably more likely, but they would at least buyback from likely sellers/ more than buying 15,000 a day with the current buyback.

Also some (potentially Trek) would accept to hopefully buy for less back on the open market, also increasing volumes and buys. Not fully filling the offer would also be positive as it would show most holders believe we are very undervalued and put more eyes on DEC.

I'm expecting a fixed-price tender offer for shares IMO, enough liquidity to offer buyback 10% of the company for a 10% premium before the next ex divi date.

Also said if the share price keeps dropping lower, DEC will end up buying itself back. A fixed-price tender offer buyback sure should be on the cards at these levels. Debt payments less next year and I'd imagine we'll see some type of asset sales too.
