�2.3 million sell at 10.22 at price �5.944 , I dont think it was in auction. Its not showing on the google 2 min volume chart which is strange they just show 22k and 93 k around 10.24 so I conclude really cannot rely too much on accuracy of google , anyone know why ?

bought another 3714 at �591.69

I am hovering on the buy button at 600 and will probably add a second lot if it drops below 595. I feel more comfortable trading at this level than a few weeks ago when it was around 670, I think 22p drop so far is overeaction but will see how it pans out during the day.

Woofdord equity income fund top dog is IMB, I calculate the fund holding has lost approximately �50 million on this alone since 31 January 18 and I wonder what the total losses are for the complete portfolio. Equity income funds are meant to protect capital whilst giving a modest income from safe investments, I dont view some of the income portfoliio as being safe. I will no longer place my money with fund managers, my return trading GSK since around late November 17 is a compound 19%, fund mangers just cannot do this.

I spoke to soon , looks like I might get another round turn by ex div after all.

I am out again, was really intending to reset my �13.23 limit sell order higher this morning but between microwaving the weetabix and making a cup of tea I was too late. Looks to me like it could rise even further into ex div, just have to sit out the excitement now on the sidelines and see if it drops enough to buy back at the end of the week.

Twonko, there is absolutely no way I can see inverse correlation of the FTSE100 with the GSK share price over any period. I have looked at comparison charts from 2min to 1 month times frames, GSK gapped down in October 17 and then as it nearly always does it simply followed the ups and downs of the FTSE100. What charts are you using ? In addition to gf I am using IG and freestockcharts but this should not make much difference so I am wondering how you came to your conclusion ?

Use google finance charts select GSK on the 2min scale ( gf gives near enough live pricing) then enter ukx into the compare box and its clear the price moves with the FTSE100. The only time GSK does not move this way is in the run up to anouncements/news and ex div dates when it gaps up or down before settling back into following the FTSE100, its a reasonably easy share to trade. There is no manipulators club, as a PI you can run rings around the big boys, what is a decent profit to you is absolutely no use to the likes of Golden Sacks, they are at a disadvantage to you.

norrab1 has been calling this wrong for over a year now and back in november he was recommending sell as it would head down to �8, it would be good to see him admit he got it wrong seeing as he has made so many incorrect predictions anyone would think he just does not like Sky. Its really difficult to make money norab1 when you get so emotionally involved with a share. On the other hand I made a loss recently by holding shares in the BT pensioners club when they tanked, what a rubbish company it is but sooner or later even this dog will make a pile for those that can see its bottom.

Back in at 1287, looks like my hopes of two round turns may be dashed, looking for something close to or better than 1320 to sell by next week.

And now its heading slightly down again from 1331 earlier today, ready for at least one more round turn maybe two before ex dividend day, just that annoying stamp duty to pay.

You can be as negative as you like about GSK and make nothing from it , on the other hand I have now made a compound return of 15% on GSK on two trades within a few weeks, I am a very solaced investor or mug punter, whatever term suits as long as I am making plenty I dont care. This is why we small PIs can run rings around the likes of fund managers like Woodford who are floundering, , they just cannot nip in and out the same way a liitle old mug punter like me can.

I disagree, the market is shakey and yet I am sitting on a 5.3% clear profit within a few days, last round turn a few weeks ago I netted around 8% before it followed the market back down. I am now trying to decide to take the money or wait a few weeks to see the price rise further into ex div day at which point I would more than likely sell and not take the dividend, then hopefully do it all over again.

I am back in at �12.46, hopeing for another quick turn or buy a few more if it drops Wednesday.

Gerry557, I was lookiing at google charts and doing comparison UKX with SSE over all time periods, the last month has just followed the market but since 2004 SSE is up 78% comapared to 63% on FTSE100 and thats without the higher than average dividend reinvested. I would have been better selling the lot ex div but I have always held some long term. I am going back in , cannot resist the price at �12.07 but will probably go half in today when I get some feel for what the DJI will do to us when it opens and then buy some more over the coming days if I can get a better feel for it bottoming out. What I dont have a good feel for at the moment is how far can the FTSE drop, so far its not quite dropped enough to rank as a market correction but its getting there.

Uphigher, the GSK price has closely followed the drop in the FTSE100 index over the past week and month, the price has been largely unaffected by anything other than overall market movement. The market makers are unable to play football with GSK, its too big for them to kick about. I am looking at having another punt on GSK this week and maybe a few others like SSE and BT. The FTSE drop should not have been unexpected, we had a santa rally which overlapped into early January and now we have had a pull back, happens more often than not.

ha, 3050 showing as a buy at 3.29pm , that was a sell not a buy.

Well thats me part out at 3.29pm at �13.4303 for 3050 shares, so thats my car insurance paid for the next few years and let the rest run and take the 28p, happy enough as I paid average around �13.00 a few weeks ago. I have played the SSE ex dividend day game a few times hopeing it will end up dropping less than the divi but could not resist the bird in hand today.
