Stuart, I am no expert so I am asking this to try and improve my understanding. I am registered as a retail CFD punter and my leverage has been reduced on shares from around ten times to 500% not the 1:2 or 200% you stated, do we have a different understanding of how this works ? I am happy enough with the new lower leverage for CFDs the new leverage is more than adequate to make money. I am looking at taking a long punt on plus500 at around £10.70 and adding if it drops below £10.50 or selling if it clears £12

The management do not appear to do anything in shareholders interest this past few years. I have held this since Belhaven in the 1980s, it peaked at over £7 a few years back. For the time being its now become a trading play, I have a limit buy order at £1.28 still not triggered but hopeing to make back some of my losses since making a bad decision to take up my rights in this dog turd of a company.

M1k3y I cannot open the link you posted its coming up as not secure and will not let me open it, what does it say about ownership. My main concern is that IAG continues to list on the LSE after brexit and that it remains a Spanish company so that I pay no stamp duty.

I think the dividend could be at risk but I am took that into account when I bought today at £1.36. The dividend is not covered by earnings so VOD borrows. There are lots of companies with high dividends with low or zero cover like SSE that do the same but what many of the big ones have in common is they can borrow at very low rates, I see them as a bond proxy and does not put me off owning them or trading them. I am happy that they can borrow to pay dividends, its not good for the long term and interest rates may rise.

I was tempted to have a second go Gioviano as it pulled back to 633 but I missed it, will be watching see what happens in the run up to US opening this afternoon. I did not realise Wagomania had been around since the 1990s, when I first heard of it through the RTN fiasco I had it down as an ethnic Australian type place which did not help me feel enthused but looks like it does stuff I might like so I may give it a try, even bush tucker would be better than Frankenstein and Bennys. But where to next with IAG, its been looking strong with a 10% rise since 11 Dec and eight green days in a row on the daily chart and the rsi at 64, I believe 70 is the level chartists believe is overbought but I don't believe in technicals but will tread carefully at these levels just in case. On fundamentals of course IAG is dirt cheap at £6.40.

sold at £6.352, £145 profit for an hours work/entertainment, not bad but my not as much as my solicitor charges for doing nothing.

2700 bought at £6.292 at 9.47am , limit to sell £6.36, nearly there , 1p to go, may fold early, its just like playing poker.

I agree the management made a sensible decision for a change in overpaying for a pig in a poke, unlike Restaurant Group management with whom I am seething for overpaying for a so called 'brand' I never heard of and to make it even worse they bought from a private equity group which inevitably means they were taken to the cleaners. I think the possible delay in the eu exit and dropping oil price is helping the IAG price but even when we do leave the eu I doubt it will have much effect on the share price. I have a long term holding and also trade short term and at todays price its neither up nor down, I am far happier when its either £ 7 when I can short or its £ 5.80 and can go all in, at todays price its a higher risk trying to trade the 1% daily ups and downs but I will have a flutter with a buy at £6.30 hopeing to sell at £6.37.

Mr Profit , I have not come back to AIM, my dog kennels are quaranteened mainly with lobster potted shares which are sitting there almost dead, they show no signs of life other than the occassional drop to maintain a directors lifestyle with yet another placing. I will not sell those that are lobster potted in the vain hope that they may spring back to life. We can agree on the excellence of BLVN, its not in my kennels so your ramping is most welcome as far as I am concerned but I bought it at the end of my aim dalliance at least a year or two ago. In the meantime I was tempted to buy a few more AIM shares which true to form then flatlined and now have zero volatility, wo is me. On the other hand boring shit companies on the FTSE100 like SSE IAG Glen SHP (r.i.p.) provide some great action, way better than anything on AIM. If you had taken out a long CFD on one of the most boring useless companies like SSE in December at around £10.60 and closed on 16th January you would be sitting on a percentage gain beating anything available on AIM, of course its all about punting which is not to everyones taste as according to IG about 80% of their customers lose their shirts punting with them.

Theres a £95k trade Mr Profit but that does not mean its not 'punt' money, all my trades are punts, on the occassion when I find myself lobster potted long term into a dog I consider that to be a failed punt.

inrhubarb, I have learned the AIM lesson the hard way over a period of 8 years, my record on AIM is abysmal and thats despite having nearly 40 years experience playing with shares, BLVN is one of the few aimers I have made money on. I make up for my AIM incompetance by gambling on FTSE100 companies, thats were the money is, not waiting forever for crappy AIM listed companies to move in the right direction, BLVN excepted of course.

Inrhubarb, do not be deterred, I find your posts inspirational and I hope there are many more millions of investors just like you so that I can become a multi millionaire.

Time to play the game again, have just sold at £11.66 , giving up the 29.3p dividend, if it drops below 1136 less another 6p to £11.30 I can buy back and break even and could immediately bank the value of the dividend, its a gamble but one I find pays off more often than not. In the case of SSE I will be waiting to see if it drops below £10.50 in the coming weeks before considering buying back. After rising over 9% since I posted on 20 Dec obviously I made a mistake, it was a strong buy rather than the weak buy I opined on but I am not complaining.

Ironic, if I got a phone call telling me I was messing up their system with my never ending buy or sell or limit orders and chopping and changing them on the same share 20 times an hour I would tell them where to stick their system.

I assume todays rise is in response to the late rns yesterday, seems UK lfl growth was 12% q2 2018/19 ? I am a pissed off shareholder and hanging on for the time being to see if the wagmoma deal works out and it does seem to be finding its feet and holding up well considering the stock market is down but I will sell if it gets near £2.

Peter , you did not lose 20% of your pension, the pound dropped back from 1.44 at which point it was way overvalued against the euro, the level its at now allows you to buy food in europe slightly cheaper than the same thing in the UK for and travel to Europe is still cheap enough for those paid in pounds . I voted leave and have kids and other relatives that live in europe and do not hold British passports, my income is in pounds and I took a loan in euros 15 years ago and I am still better off with my pounds and I spend a lot of time in euroland, I have benefited from the ups of the pound which more than cancel out the lower rate the pound is today, if you play with shares you should know very well that everything goes in cycles. The euro is a rubbish currency, one of the main people responsible for inventing it admits to that , the long term outlook unless there are serious reforms is not good for it. I like europeans and enjoy visiting and this will not change , I do not like UK or european politicians whatever their preachings. I am certainly not xenophobic nationalistic and least of all suicidal, you are free to have these feelings but it just reflects back on you, I suspect you may be old like me but we differ, I am looking forward to leaving the EU but am relaxed about is as there are many way more important things to worry about but you think its 'collective suicide' , sorry but I have to laugh when I read this kind of rant.

Superdad, According to the rules you should be able to hold Takeda within an ISA but the horrible new Barclays Smartinvestor is not allowing it, they are stating that Takeda is not eligible to be held in an ISA but I think they are lying, I also have a problem with Iberdrola which Barclays do not want to deal with as they are Spanish , I hold them from the days when they were a UK company but they will only offer to sell them, they have dumbed down the service. I suspect a few other providers allow buy and sells on non UK shares but Barclays are offering a very poor service . I see that HL state that Takeda can be held within an ISA, My only reason for staying with Barclays for the time being is that I mainly trade shares regularly, the objective being to try and buy and sell the same shares on a daily basis or at least once a week, this game for me on SHP is sadly coming to an end.

If the management of SSE were a capable bunch of people the merger should have been a good thing but taking into account that they are a bunch of idiots I think its probably best for shareholders that they messed it up. If it were up to me I would give the whole lot the sack and put in place place people like me who would run the shop properly and save a lot on wages, SSE should be a simple company to run but the management make it look so difficult. I would be happy to a do the CEO job for £100k a year and for that I would work 50 hours a week and not play golf on Fridays or take long lunch breaks and also not do deals beyond my mental capacity. I find myself really not likeing the management of any of the old boys club companies that I punt on but at least for my part I trade these duff shares rather than hold them long term so I bank the profits on a regular basis, the only downside threat I see at the moment are the odds on Corbyn becoming PM which hopefully does not happen.
