The ground-breaking ceremony for the installation of the world’s first NEPTUNE V has taken place at Guttroff Unternehmensgruppe’s facility in Dettelbach, Germany.

Present at the ceremony was Deputy Prime Minister Hubert Aiwanger who emphasised the importance of the H2 ramp-up and indicated the significance of funding and investment readiness in Germany.

Minister Aiwanger said “The hydrogen project in Dettelbach depicts the entire value chain. The hydrogen generated can be made available directly to the mobility sector via the petrol station and sold via the existing sales network of Guttroff GmbH. And even the waste heat of the electrolysis is to be used.”

Pedram Pazouki, ITM VP Products & Projects, attended the ceremony and commented “Today’s groundbreaking in Dettelbach marks more than the start of construction — it’s a bold step towards a sustainable hydrogen future. At ITM Power, we’re proud to bring NEPTUNE V to life with Guttroff, showcasing what strong partnerships and cutting-edge technology can achieve together.’

Guttroff’s green hydrogen production site will include the installation of our 5MW containerised electrolyser and will provide green hydrogen to a planned refuelling station.

ITM Power continue to move forward at pace and have announced being net cash generative in the second half of FY25 and having more cash ~£205,000,000.00 + on balance sheet than previously guided. Up from previous guidance of £160M.

Net cash generative refers to a business or entity that generates more cash than it spends over a period, resulting in a positive net cash flow. This means the company's cash inflows (money coming in) exceed its cash outflows (money going out), indicating a healthy financial position and ability to meet its obligations and potentially invest in growth

Uniper is advancing UK hydrogen production with its Humber H2ub in Killingholme – a 120MW green hydrogen plant using 💧ITM Power electrolysers💧, recently shortlisted for government funding.

Uniper will explore the development of the Salinae Hydrogen Storage project , which could store up to 400GWh of hydrogen.

Groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the new hydrogen filling station of the Guttroff company

Today we would like to congratulate our valued neighbour, the Guttroff Unternehmensgruppe, on the official groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a hydrogen filling station at the Dettelbach site! 💧🔋

A big thank you for the invitation and the exciting tour of the facility! Particularly noteworthy are the inspiring greetings of all responsible supporters such as our District Administrator Tamara Bischof, the Mayor of Dettelbach Matze Bielek and above all the words of our Deputy Bavarian Prime Minister Mr. Hubert Aiwanger.

💧HyHAUL invests in UK's first hydrogen freight corridor

HyHAUL Mobility has taken a final investment decision for the construction of the UK's first hydrogen corridor for heavy-duty trucks. The £14 million project includes three hydrogen refuelling stations along the M4 corridor between London and South Wales, operational from mid-2026.

The corridor is part of the UK Department of Transport's Zero Emission HGV & Infrastructure Demonstrator programme. Partners in the project include Protium Green Solutions (hydrogen production), Scania Group (vehicles), Novuna (leasing), Reynolds Logistics (distribution) and Fuel Cell Systems Ltd. (refuelling infrastructure).

The stations will use green hydrogen, produced in Wales, and are designed for back-to-base and long-haul routes without diesel fallback. The project is the result of four years of preparation and is seen as an important step towards large-scale decarbonisation of freight transport.

The project was recently shortlisted as part of the UK's Hydrogen Allocation Round 2 (HAR2). ITM will deploy six 20MW POSEIDON core electrolysis process modules into the project.
