I do agree that talking up and talking down the share price is irrelevant. The market understands the science and the context of the information presented better than most of us possibly can.
But the results of other trials for which this company supplies cell therapy material is also a key factor. Novartis trials are ongoing on CAR T CELL therapy, and the company hopes to introduce this as treatment for Non Hodgkins Lymphoma, to US regulators in 2017. Estimated cost initially per patient: $450,000, which is a barrier to commercialisation. But if CART gives someone a lifeline , I doubt commercialisation can be prevented, and costs will drop with adoption. Novartis has set up its own manufacturing facilities in Morris Plains, in the US, but I don't think it will rely on anyone except OXB this side of the pond. Plus the lentivector method of introducing antigen expression is definitely OXBs baby, even if it's licensed out.
Success in this area=greater demand for OXB product/s=£££ in royalties. And remember this is regardless of OXBs own product success: the combo of lentivector plus CART etc. And OXB has similar contracts with atleast three other BIG players: sanofi, GSK, Pfizer.....the odds are one of these will click and produce annual royalties soon. Every time a trial using OXB material progresses a step, it gets paid. Ex: Sanofi paid it £1 million on account of ocular disease trial going into human phase. Just my two pence, and of course i m biased as I m invested.
