Timeline and steps involved to get approved LFT?23 May 2020 18:42
I wondered if anyone would care to give any thoughts on what the sequence of steps might be and the timeline involved, in getting the LFT tested, approved and manufactured?
In the RNS dated 11th May, Avacta said ; Cytiva and Avacta will now work to develop rapid test strips for the detached spike protein and for the intact virus particle, aiming to have prototype devices in a few weeks.
So, just wondering when we hear the next news, will it be to confirm the test works, and if so do we think that update will also include specific details on the accuracy of the test? And what do we think the sequence of events will be after that? Assuming Cytiva has managed to apply the affimers to their test strip successfully, will the test then have to go through some kind of trial and if so does anyone have any thoughts on the scale of that trial, and how long it might take? And then at what point is the test able to be submitted for regulatory approval and any thoughts on how long that might take?
I am sure there will be people on this board that have experience in this area and would appreciate some input on how the timeline and steps involved might look in practice. thanks so much.
