Pedro61 - Simon Thompson's many Buy ratings on Tek over the years have done nothing for the share price so far.

I don't see why that would change now. The results might have some effect. Though as I posted earlier, the profit before tax figure is "unrealised". In other words, it only exists as a paper profit on results day, so it's ultimately pretty meaningless.

Lancebombadier - as a private shareholder, pretty much zero as the deal is all but priced in.

I'm not 100% sure whether you'd still qualify for the 11p / share dividend if you bought before 29th May.

You would have done pre-bid announcement. But whether you still qualify or whether it's only shareholders on the register pre-bid is unclear (to me at least).

If you're asking what the case is for FirstCash to buy in here, the answer's scale, market diversification & a relatively cheap valuation (by US standards that is).

Letitrun - they may not be establishing their OWN manufacturing base, but the RNS makes it quite clear part of the placing proceeds will be spent on manufacturing in the US:

- Leasing a US warehousing and logistics facility, manufacturing and warehousing 5-10 metric tonnes of SlimBiome in the USA"

3LB - I'd go further than "no big deal". It's actually very good news in my book, as DM's credibility is now significantly below Bo's. For me at least.

LordWM - I'm all for enthusiasm, but I don't think your calculations take into account tax. Or costs? Still, I agree Hex looks undervalued, even after re-rating slightly since this time last week.

Even after this morning’s (admittedly welcome) re-rate, TEK’s abnormally high discount to NAV tells you exactly what investors think about the long term management strategy of Clifford Gross-Lee-Incompetent.

Wow, it’s only taken Cliff five years to realise that without giving shareholders something back they may simply not stick around.

I still won’t be holding my breath on the special dividend though. And it’s likely to be scant comfort anyway, given how the share price has been trashed over time. Chancellor Cliff may finally be about to give with one hand, having taken far more away with the other over recent years. And we should feel grateful?

It can surely be no coincidence - following TW’s recent interventions - that funds have been raised via a placing this time, rather than further SBTX sell offs.

Hopefully those now expressing concern about dilution weren’t the same investors rallying round TW earlier this month. Be careful what you wish for.

It does at least appear these funds will be sensibly utilised. Having a manufacturing & distribution base in the US certainly makes sense, given Trump’s totally unpredictable & ostensibly irrational tariff agenda.

I’m just slightly surprised £750k will cover everything listed in this morning’s RNS. I also wonder whether they couldn’t have used Fulfilment By Amazon US more cheaply & effectively for the logistics element. Hopefully they did at least consider that option, rejecting it for sound reasons…

The thing I now try to look for most in any Aim share is how management delivered in any previous company.

Then, whether that continues in their current one. I tend to go in small initially these days - particularly with any new outfit - then maybe increase if they actually do what they promised.

Too many Aim shares rely on continuous RNS puffery which somehow never quite delivers the goods. A certain biopharma company springs to mind......

Morri940 - no intention to cross-ramp, but I've a smallish holding in Hex (a helium explorer).

It hasn't really taken off yet (unless you got in at IPO stage or during its subsequent lows. Which sadly I didn't!).

But so far, it does seem to be delivering on what it promised in terms of timescales etc. And it has already secured some commercially viable wells.

The CEO is highly experienced & seems well-regarded in the industry. They're looking to start production this summer, which would be a very quick turnaround. And assuming this holds, it might be the catalyst for a significant upwards re-rate.

But - like all shares in this sector - it remains speculative & high risk. Definitely not one for widows & orphans, but it might just be a winner. Fingers crossed!
