1. Historically, following Simon Thompson’s TEK tips has usually been a surefire way of losing money fast.
2. Re: Microsalt: Ignoring admin expenses for a moment - & whether these were largely one-offs or not - revenue was £750k, yet cost of sales was £1.188m. On that basis, even if they could get admin expenses down to zero (which ain't ever gonna happen by a long way), they'd be losing money on every sale.
Admittedly, they've said gross margins should improve going forward, with the emphasis moving from B2C to higher margin bulk sales. But even assuming 2025 revenues hit £2.5m as forecast and gross margins improve, once you factor in the ongoing admin expenses, SALT will still be loss-making.
