IQE has always had the potential. But sadly since 2017 it has repeatedly failed to capitalise on it.

Hopefully having a finance person in the CEO role will finally address this. We’ll see.

It’s well documented on here and in past interviews & RNSs which deals came to nowt. Don’t need elrico to point that out.

AFAIC, anyone who flip flops & changes allegiance (both personal & investment-wise) as dramatically as elrico has isn’t worth listening to I’m afraid.

Today’s RNS repeatedly says it marks a “step towards” commercial production.

So whilst it’s a positive development, commercialisation is still some way off at best.

Trouble is, IQE’s balance sheet means it really needs higher revenues & a much higher margin right now. Not at some unspecified future date, good though that would be.

So basically we’ve established Elrico’s “private guild” is some kind of yes man/woman echo chamber.

So long as you lap it all up, you’re allowed to stay. How very gracious of him. But the moment you question anything you’re out on your ear.

Vascular - you say “the revenues and gross margins are all in the recent RNSs”.

Can you confirm the dates of the RNSs concerned? If they were pre- the announcement of Marionnaud walking away, those projections would no longer be valid. Any more than you could equate sales & profit projections for a company listed on, say, Boots to one selling the exact same item on a market stall, in-house website or TikTok.

Redmoor - amen to peace. But I doubt it'll be quite that simple.

If things really escalated, eventually Iran might not be supplying very much of anything.

Sure, that would push the helium price up. But if it ever got to that stage, global stock markets would be in hard hat mode. And it wouldn't be pretty.

As you say, here's hoping common sense eventually prevails & nobody goes there. First & foremost for the sake of humanity. But also, much further down the line in every sense, for investors.

Brentw1 - main rockets to worry about at the moment are the ones Israel’s firing into Iran. And vice versa.

If that conflict were to escalate or spread, global markets would be impacted as the oil price climbs & inflation worries grow.

I see Hex being less susceptible than many to any correction from this, but it’s still something to bear in mind right now.

Promise of a licensing deal sounds encouraging, with the usual caveats as to who's promising it of course.

As to the revised trial, exactly how long is needed to conduct more research into optimal patient selection? It's not like they haven't had SEVERAL YEARS already.

Body language is always worth studying, so it's interesting what you said about the scientists.

The share price is also worth studying. And it doesn't exactly seem to have been set on fire by yesterday's update.

Are the five PIs who attended yesterday filling their boots this morning? So far, it appears not.

We’ve learnt SO much already.

Meanwhile rebarm helpfully informs us of something already “alluded to in the RNSs of earlier this year”. Oh, and a deal is definitely still on this year apparently, ‘cos Tim says so. But the format obviously can’t be disclosed, because the deal - errrr - hasn’t been done yet.

With such comprehensive reporting, it’s hard to imagine how PoorFarmer could find anything to add. But let’s hope he tries.

Having lectured me, perhaps I can offer you a word to the wise?

It normally pays to allay any fears about a CEO’s competence & a company’s lack of progress BEFORE adding significantly to your holding. If you do it the other way round, you risk confirmation bias, scrabbling around for the tiniest scrap of evidence to back up your decision.

But being so worldly wise, I’m sure you knew that already.

I’d echo leas response to them. And still no update on the most important aspect, namely the revised P2/3 trial.

Perhaps you’re just not feeling generous enough to share any trial feedback. Hopefully PoorFarmer’s report will be more comprehensive & useful.

As for a deal being done this year. Potentially that’s great news. But without any details of said deal, who knows how significant it’ll be. Or even whether it’ll happen, given that it clearly hasn’t been signed off yet, so we’ve only Tim’s (historically unreliable) word for it.

The holding you mention is substantial, so to me there’s the risk of confirmation bias. But I still look forward to reading your feedback & hearing your take on the Tale of Two Timmies.

I always try to see both sides of any investment argument. But with the BOD’s consistently poor performance here - & TM’s with pretty much anything he’s ever touched - it just feels like you’re flying in the face of logic.

So go on then, convince me otherwise.
