I still think they should go for a wealth tax on assets - including property - of HNW individuals. Yes, a few might leave. But we were told all the bankers & City bods would leave if Brexit happened. It did. Yet sadly we still have to put up with most of them being here....
I suspect a levelling of CGT & income tax rates is more likely. Plus, perhaps, council tax reform. Either by creating more bands at the higher end. Or by revaluing property generally and levying an annual fractional % charge. Would hit asset-rich (but in some cases, relatively cash-poor) Southerners particularly hard though. Depends whether the majority of those vote Labour I guess.
Either way, it ain't gonna be pretty. So hold onto your hats.
Or vote Hex & pray.
