I agree - a confirmed SpaceX IPO at the sort of valuations being bandied around would be good for SMT.

Question is how much of this is already priced in. I suspect a fair bit of it, as it’s already assumed by most that SpaceX will IPO before long.

Full transparency- I sold part of our SMT holdings today. Could go a lot higher, which is fine if so, as the family still holds a decent amount. But should the AI bubble develop even so much as a slow puncture in 2026, SMT will be badly affected. And I sense it’s a case of when not if. Hence my modest reductions today.

FS - agreed about TW & Eldico.

But I’m expecting an upwards re-rate in Opti’s SP post- next results.

One thing that should be clear to everybody by now is that basing any IMM investment decision on what Tim said is barmy.

I don’t think for one minute Tim got over excited.

He knew exactly what he was doing IMHO. Company was running short of cash, so he wanted to extract the maximum value from the latest Lanstead sharing agreement.

Almost as soon as the SP assessment period for that agreement was over, he released the “deal delayed” RNS.

I don’t believe in coincidences. Especially when Tim’s involved.

Stoxx - when it comes to investing, I really wouldn’t rely on others to do the legwork for you.

But long story short, if IQE announces a full/part sale (or at worst, a bank covenant extension), the SP is likely to rally. Unless/until it does, continued drift - generally downwards - is the order of the day.

In Tim’s dictionary, “in the New Year” DOES NOT necessarily equate to January 2026, Q1 2026 or even 2026. It simply implies a different year from now.

Just as a definite deal in 2025 DID NOT end up meaning a definite deal in 2025. Capiche?

The LSE should focus on AIM Directors causing all that adverse BB babble, rather than shooting the messengers. As if any sane investor pays much attention to these boards anyway.

There are a few informed contributors. But the vast majority wouldn’t look out of place in a kindergarten.

Meaningless either way. Ultimately all that really counts for now is next spring's commercial update. Not a few punters' take on things.

So basically someone sold a lot of shares, but someone else bought them so we can’t read a lot into it either way.

We didn’t get any significant sustained re-rate from any of the previous IPOs.

Why? Because any upgrade in the value of its holdings is only actually realised when the money’s banked. Until then it’s only a paper profit which is meaningless. Tek has a nasty habit of hanging onto the bulk of its stakes, then watching whilst they’re gradually diluted by placings & reality failing to match IPO froth & hype.

Come on Tek. For once, be what you’re meant to.

Act as an incubator, stay involved until your companies hatch, then cash in, move on & leave them to fend for & finance themselves.

Wozzer - Tek only creates a “value crystallisation event” if it sells at least part of its Guident holding shortly after IPO for a substantial profit.

Problem is, it has always held onto previous holdings post-IPO, only to see their value plummet and to end up being massively diluted (or in the case of BELL, wiped out altogether in terms of the final part of its holding).

PensionInvestor - with Tim, every year is the year of delivery.

Until we get near the end of it, when it suddenly isn’t.
