Troajan - I agree it’s encouraging (& surprising to me) that Hex’s SP has stood up so well to the slippage in production timing.

There again, the SP maybe didn’t rise as dramatically as most predicted when Hex began its transition from explorer to near-term producer. I’ve found a lot of Hex’s price action rather baffling. Like when it rose well above the placing price a day or so after the raise. And stayed there.

Maybe I’m underestimating the value & reputation of the large backers here. Not to mention Bo’s significant stake - always encouraging when the CEO goes in big.

Cauldstream - even assuming your average buy price was 1.5p a share, over 6 million equates to £90k.

Whatever the merits of the scientists at the heart of IMM, Tim’s in charge of things. Personally, however confident I was in the science, I wouldn’t risk anything like £90k on any outfit with Tim’s name on it.

Time & again he’s led investors up the garden path, promising the earth only to deliver diddly squat.

I hope - for both our sakes - he finally does something he’s “promised”. But I certainly wouldn’t bank on it. Nor would I risk anything like the money you say you’ve put in here. But good luck!

The frequency of disclosures is governed by takeover rules (in this instance a potential part/full takeover).

Has no bearing on the likelihood - or otherwise - of a bid eventually emerging.

Being retired, I’m gradually migrating from growth funds to value shares offering a decent yield.

So I reinvested part of my SMT proceeds into L&G & M&G. But I’m almost 40% in cash currently, anticipating a general market correction. Who knows when that’ll happen though! I also keep an eye on RFX, having done very well with H&T when it was taken over. But RFX is currently too pricey for me, as I doubt we’ve seen the last of the gold price correction yet and that influences RFX’s SP.

I still retain a decent chunk in SMT. Just not quite as much, given my increased preference for income.

Give it a rest! By your logic, anyone posting anything that can be interpreted as even vaguely negative is trying to get in/add cheaper. And vice versa for those silver-tongued chancers looking to sell.

On that basis, these boards would be UTTERLY pointless, as anyone expressing ANY opinion would be regarded as having an agenda.

Sadly, some probably do - laughably deluded that their posts might actually influence the SP. But many (myself included) are simply saying what they think.

So drop the conspiracy theories.

Bit of fun whilst we wait: what’s everyone’s SP estimate for when first production RNS lands?

I had initially thought around 35p, but now suspect it’ll be more muted, given the repeated delays which have hit momentum.

So I’ll kick off with 30.5p mid price. But am hoping that’s just the beginning.

Whilst the plant all looks very shiny & modern, the SP continues its downward trajectory as production timelines remain unspecified.

Also, markets are generally lower today in early trade.

Surely we can’t be TOO far off first production now? By summer (2026) would be good. What’s a year among friends!

I’ve dipped back into this BB from time to time.

Whilst it may be less likely than likely, it’s still a possibility.

The sector may be booming. But anyone who’s followed IQE closely over the years knows its fortunes bear little relation to the broader sector.

Shrewed - you seem rather dense on the delist issue.

If a company plans to delist, they won’t EVER mention it in advance.

I think it’s unlikely with IQE. But simply relying on the fact they’ve never mentioned it is just plain bonkers.

Shrewed - whilst I too consider a delist unlikely, IQE would hardly give any forewarning if that was their plan.

Kaeren - calm down - there’s really no need to take a pop.

I actually said I felt production was close now.

And sure, factors outside a company’s control can always mess with timeline guidance. But since summer 2025, Hex has repeatedly updated its guidance, implying production’s imminent. And here we are, end of January, still waiting.

I’m less concerned about the delay, more about their rapidly deteriorating comms. They were always very quick to post photos, videos & interviews implying rapid progress towards production. But much more tardy when it comes to explaining the intervening delays & issuing accurate revised timelines.

Not sure it really tells us anything new though, as production has allegedly been imminent since last summer.

I suspect we're pretty close now and would antcipate a small upwards re-rate once confirmed.

It's really hard to tell though, as Hex's SP doesn't always react as you'd expect. For example, it went UP the day after the last placing and held at that higher level. And production has been expected here for some time, so anyone's guess whether it's priced in already.

SOH has oft lamented Opti being undervalued by investors. But it's a bit chicken & egg.

Until meaningful (& sustainable) sales come through & profits start to emerge, investors are understandably cautious.

The year has started well. We need that momentum to continue - and something meaningful to happen with Sweetbiotix rather than just endless talks.

Then the current SP will start looking somewhat ridiculous. But not until then I suspect.

Hopefully, when it comes to updates, the days of talking in riddles are now over.

There suddenly seems to be a concerted attempt to engage with investors much more clearly & directly. Rather than through dodgy middlemen with personal agendas. Long may it continue.

OMG - just read Tigger’s losing faith here. That’s REALLY bad news, as he always had his finger on the pulse. Nudgy nudgy, city chummy.
