I’ve learnt not to even try second-guessing short term SP movements with Hex.

They announce first production. Price drops next few days. They announce a placing. Price rises next few days..

It’s totally counter intuitive. Main thing is general direction of travel. Which is up.

30p seems to be a major resistance level for now, but can’t see it remaining that way in, say, 6 months’ time.

Aquae - think you’ll find SOH recently told us H&B were completely revamping the range prior to relaunch.

You “expect a big move up according to my calculations”. What particular calculations might those be and how many cigarette packets were harmed in the making of them?

We may end up blue again today. But the two placings aren’t comparable. Last June’s brought in a significant new investor. Yesterday’s didn’t as far as we know.

BBN - you say: “The next funding, if it comes, will be for growth”.

Hex said: “The proceeds …. will provide the financial headroom required to support ….. capacity expansion activities.”

So AFAIC they’ve ALREADY raised for growth. Short to medium term at least. They can’t keep telling us they’re raising for the same thing.

BBN - my observation wasn’t intended as a criticism so much as an attempt to highlight an apparent discrepancy between last June’s placing RNS explanation & today’s.

Thank you for going to such lengths to produce counter-arguments, despite suggesting the apparent discrepancy I highlighted didn’t merit debate.

Span - bigger discrepancy than 1 well surely.

Last year’s placing was meant to get us to 5 wells. But now we’re told another £2m+ is needed. And that’s with 3 wells producing & Inez currently in drill string limbo.

BBN - I get your point, but here’s what we were told at the previous 16p placings last June:

“Based on exceptional results to date, the Company has decided to fast-track development with a fourth and fifth production well, with Inez #1 to commence mobilisation next week. An additional two production wells will allow for a rapid ramp up to full field production, improving overall project NPV. This will be funded through the proceeds of the Fundraising”

Admittedly the SP gas almost doubled since that last fundraise. But what happened to the £4.5m?

Anyone else wondering whether than rather than selling all/part of the business, IQE might now consider a placing?

It would have made zero sense a month or two ago when the SP was around 5p. But they could probably get away with one currently at 20p or so.

Hope they don't go down this route, as we've been diluted enough already. But you'd have though it may have at least crossed Jutta's mind.

Pebsi - you don’t honestly believe random PI posts have ANY long term bearing on the SP, do you?

The only thing that’ll do this is if Tim finally delivers on something he promised. And the omens aren’t good in that respect.

My hunch - given how long this is dragging on with now only vague timelines being given - is that any deal will be a smallish one involving joint funding of another P3 trial. In which case any major re-rate is some considerable way off still.

A month or two ago, general consensus was IQE’s future was in the balance, barring a part or full sale. The SP crashed below 5p & few foresaw any major revival, though many more are now suddenly claiming they did.

Now, despite no sale, talk is of a major resurgence. This mainly seems to be based on major revaluations elsewhere in the sector which have led to IQE’s SP quadrupling from recent lows.

IQE’s fortunes haven’t traditionally mirrored any wider sector uplift, so it’ll be interesting to see whether this holds or is just another flash in the pan.

Here’s hoping things really are different this time &/or that we get news of a sale either going through or no longer being necessary.
