I bought in around 75p but will top up at some point. I'll wait until after 22 July results because I'm not convinced we have seen the bottom yet. Longer term however this is a great price to enter.

Starting with a dummy account is a good idea. I did, and it convinced me that shorting is not for me. Not as easy as it looks. Even on shares that are a nailed on certainty to go down.

Other websites are quoting the price at 31.77p so a 5.9% rise makes sense...

I'm just as optimistic Echo1 but I see a longer time frame I'm afraid. Like it or not Covid-19 will have delayed the implementation of 5g so I think we are about 6 months behind where we should be with FW. I can see an IPO for FW several years away. I'll admit I haven't given Spin Memory much thought; it's less of a 'sure thing' and it could take 5 years to get to where FW are today.

Short to medium term FW related news will drive this share imo. On a more optimistic note; it's only today that I realised that over 90% of shares are held by institutional investors. Previously I had put the lack of share price momentum down to an overhang from Neil Woodford exit. That's why I think todays news of another institutional investor is significant. With over 90% of shares in 'sticky hands' I believe this could rocket on significant news.

So while my advice to Nicky is to be patient, that's not to say I believe the share price rise will be slow and gradual. Instead I believe this share will probably sit around current price for a while but when it suddenly goes it will really go.

Well, if 'Super Saturday' on my local (West Mids) high street is anything to go by then I'd say we are in for a very slow recovery for the economy. Pubs looked a bit miserable, cafes and restaurants virtually empty. People have lost the spending habit. I wouldn't be surprised to see SGC below 50p; in fact, I'd welcome the buying opportunity. It will be 2021 before we see any sustained upward movement in share price.

Interesting the above list accounts for 85% of equity in 'sticky hands'. Now we have Inter Trader as well. Looks like over 90% of ALM is held by institutions. We are in good company, I hope.

I don't have a problem with poster showing their frustration. I don't believe what gets posted here has the slightest influence on share price and I'd rather have open discussion; good and bad. However, I agree that purely emotional posts add little value to the discussion.

Looks like we have a new investor ‘Inter Trader Ltd’ based in Gibraltar; 12.75% is quite a chunk. They must have taken some off Crystal Amber who have gone from 22.6% down to 18.2%.

I assume Crystal Amber had taken an overweight position in order to vote through changes in the BOD and have now reduced their position.

I hope Inter Trader Ltd are aligned with CA with regards to getting greater shareholder value.

But you've had the 12.5% special dividend earlier in the year so only 12.5% down?

Results due 22nd July. I'm honestly not expecting any good news. Previous estimates suggest passenger numbers down by 40% and I see no reason to expect otherwise. At the same time it will be difficult to be overly optimistic on future guidance. We simply can't predict what H2 will bring. On the other hand, the bad news is probably already in the price.

I'm still taking a 12 month view on this as I believe things will look a lot more positive early in 2021. I may even add to my current holding if we were to dip below 50p.

I think we have to accept that Covid-19 will have an impact on the roll out of 5g. By the end of this year we will probably be 6 months behind where we should have been with implementation. If you take the long view this shouldn't matter too much although I'd admit to being more sanguine if the share price could get above 50p and stay there.

But still essentially the same company. I look at today's share price in terms of where SGC will be in 12 months time...

PROS:
Business back to normal with Covid a distant memory.
Recession forces more use of public transport.
Low oil prices reduces running costs.
Defensive stocks in greater demand in bear market.

CONS:
A new normal involves greater working from home.
Recession means less commuters for all transport types.
QE and other government policies feeding wage inflation and higher running costs.
Bear market in stocks mean share prices are lower across the board.

Whether you believe the pros or the cons, I doubt that twelve months from now this company is only half the value it was twelve months ago.

Being listed on NASDAQ (or any exchange) brings with it a lot of admin and regulation. On the other hand, the larger the company grows the greater it's need to access capital. Up until now FW has been able to raise the capital it needs from existing shareholders (including ALM) but for how long?

At some stage FW will simply outgrow ALM but it probably suits both parties to maintain the status quo for as long as possible. When the time comes it will be in both parties interest to IPO and my guess would be another special dividend while keeping enough cash behind for future funding for the remaining companies in the portfolio. By such time Spin may require extra funding to grow.

martbmth, I just googles and yes; you are correct in your definition of 'advertising inventory'. My mistake, but now I am even more confused. Surely the 'advertising space' belongs to the gaming company? While the sponsors belong to the sporting franchise. Any suggestion?
