Good afternoon Vas,
As far as I understand it, from the records I have, there were not " ..... 100 million meters awarded to AMI's ....... " up to March 2023, if that is what you are indicating with your quote " Are these 100 million meters awarded to AMI's, the same awarded a year ago this march?"
On July 14th, 2023 there were 56m+ smart meters that had been Awarded, at that time. So the March 2023 figure for smart meter Awards, would be less than 56m+, I would have thought.
As of February 2024, so far, there are 108m+ smart meters that have been Awarded. So a circa 93% increase in smart meters Awarded, over the July 14th, 2023 figure, that I have provided.
I hope this helps.
LTI.
Good morning all,
There has been steady progress with installations during February 2024, with an Achievement so far recorded of 4,85,959 ( 485,959 ). Overall Cumulative Achievement has increased to 90,21,348 ( 9,021,348 ).
Good Luck all.
LTI.
Good morning Vas and all,
Thank you for the NSGM update, for February 2024. It is appreciated.
The main winner so far during February 2024, is the project for Andhra Pradesh ( APEPDCL ) with an upgrade of Awarded smart meters of 272,924, bringing the total Awarded for that particular utility to 1,255,240. Which is their total number of Sanctioned smart meters, that have know been Awarded, for that particular project.
The number of Sanctioned smart meters remains at 222,264,571, with the number of Awarded smart meters increasing to 108,340,333, so far.
Good Luck Vas and all.
LTI.
No problem Vas,
There was information within the report that I posted, that seemed to contain additional/different information to that which you had posted a few days ago. That is why I used a different heading.
As far as having a different section for hybrid smart meters, I'm not sure that level of detail is important in the overall scheme of things. CyanConnode have informed us if a hybrid solution has been provided, but I cannot remember where. But to have a different " league table " for the Hybrid solution, if that is what you are implying, I personally, do not think is neccessary.
As long as the number of meters are covered in an overall framework that does not give anything away to the competition and provides a level of confidentiality for both the Client and for CyanConnode, I am happy with the information that is provided.
Also, I am not sure whether a smart meter contract can be/is able to be split between Hybrid and standard Omnimesh, within the same contract, for regional/mountainous/urban/rural conditions, or whether a separate tender would need to be Sanctioned and Awarded.
Still, exciting times ahead, I feel and long may it continue.
Take care Vas.
LTI.
Good morning tonyj and all and you are welcome tonyj.
And as is mentioned in the report, about the training that CyanConnode are undertaking, with " .... the company is actively educating people about the benefits of smart metering and planning training and awareness to encourage the adoption of this technology " the way I view it is, that it is again good business practice to promote the benefits of the overall environmental package of the products and solutions that CyanConnode specifically, are providing.
You take care tonyj.
LTI.
...... an interesting piece of information contained within the report:-
" How has CyanConnode ensured compliance with smart metering policies and standards."
" Parthasarathi Krishnan:- In India, the journey of smart metering technology has seen significant progress since the early 2000s. Initially aligning with European and American standards, the government's initiatives facilitated the development of indiginous forums to formulate new policies for smart metering and communications.
" CyanConnode has played a crucial role in this policy-making process, leveraging its global deployment experience to contribute the creation of open and robust standards. This approach ensures that end customers are free of a single technology."
I had often wondered how much a contribution CyanConnode has made, over the years, with policy-making, but this is the first time I have seen it in print. And also the " ..... leveraging its global deployment experience to contribute to the creation of open and robust standards " is very significant, I feel.
I seem to remember some " Round Table " meetings taking place between Indian Government officals and CyanConnode, some years ago. Maybe they have been continuing, but less public.
I feel sure that CyanConnode's " .... global deployment experience ..... " in India and other global regions, will/has been taken into consideration, when other global authorities are considering their options? Some definitely have.
Good Luck all.

Good afternoon all.
Sorry, the link seems to be having trouble in travelling. Please type-in the headline " CyanConnode pioneering last mile connectivity with narrow-band RF Mesh networks " and it should take you to the site where you can access the report.

.......... connectivity with narrow-band RF Mesh networks:-
http://eprmagazine.com/events/cyanconnode-pioneering-last-mile-connectivity-with-narrow-band-rf-mesh-networks/
From the EPR Magazine report, which features Mr. Parthasarathi Krishnan and Mr. Aniruddha Shahpure, from CyanConnode, talking about CyanConnode's Unified Head-End System:-
Mr. Parthasarathi Krishnan:-
" The Unified Head-End System can accomodate all types of last-mile connectivity available. This includes incorporating CyanConnode local radio frequency technology and integrating seamlessly with third-party cellular, NABIO3, or PLC technology. Additionally, we are introducing long-range radio frequency communication, allowing for a remarkable 10-kilometre distance with a clear line of sight. The noteworthy advantage here is using an unlicenced spectrum, eliminating operational costs."
Mr. Aniruddha Shahpure:-
" This technology has undergone testing in challenging terrain and has proven successful. And has achieved communication, over a distance of approximately 9.7 kilometres, without encountering any hindrances."
An interesting report, I feel.
Good Luck all.

Good afternoon Vas and all,
Thank you Vas, for the information on Bihar and PM Modi's speech, it is appreciated. And as you have mentioned today and as has been mentioned previously, gas ( metres ) are being mentioned more frequently in the news now-days, along with the potential for water meters. And other developing outlets, such as smart street lighting, heat pumps, electric vehicle charging points, etc., as well as other developing product/solution technologies.
Good Luck Vas and all.

Good afternoon all,
Expanding a little on the PFCCL shortlist of 5 AMISP bidders, for a smart meter/smart grid contract, as Vas has pointed out, these AMISP bidders are:- Gemstar Infra India, HPL Electric & Power, Apraava Energy, Ramalingam Construction and Sai Computers, of which Vas has covered some of the Companies mentioned, the others, some of which, we have mentioned before.
Interestingly, of the AMISP bidders for this contract, only HPL, Apraava Energy and Sai Computers are all on the REC Empanelment List at the moment and all have a Cellular and RF offer. Of the sub-contractor companies mentioned, Iskraemeco and BCITS are also on the list and both with a Cellular and RF offer.

Good afternoon gizmo, Vas and all.
I think this is also the event that you both highlighted, so thank you for that. Are they CyanConnode coloured ballons I see at the presentation?
Or is it a coincidence.
Good Luck all.

Good morning Vas and all,
Thank you for the heads-up for the Polaris smart metering contract in Uttar Pradesh. It is appreciated.

A nice little tick-up this morning Vas, with the share-price at the moment. Something has spooked the market, again.
Thanks again Vas.
LTI.
Vas, that is a great find in the T&D India magazine and the map of all CyanConnode's installations/projects. Excellent.
Also, doing a bit more dot-joining, it confirms/reminds us on the map, that CyanConnode have already installed two projects for MPWZ in Madhya Pradesh and one project for MPPKVVCL, also in Madhya Pradesh.
So it will be interesting to find out eventually, if there was an RF requirement in the two ongoing projects in Madhya Pradesh, in MP-East and MP-Central, that were additionally confirmed and Awarded, in the NSGM report that I posted on Friday.
The picture gets clearer, the more dot's that you join.
Good Luck, Vas.
LTI.
Hello Vas and thank you for sharing the info. But as you say, it is probably a coincidence - with the dates.
I take it from the report that you posted, that PFCCL, as of January 25th, 2024, when the report was published, were not fully Empanelled, even though they have short-listed 5 bidders/consortia. The report also confirms that PFCCL, during November 2023, had begun the process of Empanelment.
Some information on PFCCL:-
http://pfcclindia.com
Also, not sure which utility is being referred to, as I don't think it is mentioned in the report. Unless I have missed it? So we will probably have to wait to find that out, after a bit more dot-joining.
But also mentioned in the report:- " Subsequent to their empanelment, PFCCL will select empanelled AMISP's, based on an RfP process, for prospective smart meter projects, taken up by PFCCL."
But thank you for the information on the other companies, Vas.
Good Luck,
LTI.
