Hello CB, I will try one more time. There has never been any evidence, either way, to give us any indication whether or not, CyanConnode were involved in the Systems Integration tender, for EESL.. And again I will ask, any hint on who suggested/has been suggesting that CyanConnode were " ...... nailed on to win?" You say that " ...... all meters were well tested prior to the reverse auction." The the report, dated 18th December, 2017:- " EESL, however defended its decision. Reverse auction was carried out strictly as per the provision of the smart meter tender. It may be noted that the reverse auction has actually helped in further bringing down the prices of smart meters, by close to 8%, it said in response to Mint's queries." Here's the interesting piece, " EESL, though is confident that ITI and KEONICS will ensure that the meters adhere to all quality standards. Before the delivery, all the smart meters will by type-tested, for IS 16444, in NABL." So your statement that " .... all meters were well tested, prior to the reverse auction ....... " seems to be being challenged. It may well be that the two companies have provided meters that qualify. Any information on this qualification would be appreciated. LTI.

Maybe another report may give you a possible reason why CyanConnode possibly did not enter the EESL tender for Solutions Provider. As we do not know until we are officially told, maybe this will shed some light, on the possible reason. Or maybe not. " It is surprising that L1 and L3, in the largest tender in the world, are companies that have - forget smart meters - never manufactured any kind of meters in the past, one of the two persons said. Hello CB, I am glad that you found it informative. Eventually. But who suggested that CyanConnode were " ....... nailed on to win?" And as always, any one or in this case, any organization, that does not agree with your view, is viewed as " ..... toothless." But as we know, there is no corroboration that CyanConnode were involved in the tender for Solutions Provider, for the EESL tender. Even with your contacts within EESL, that you have contacted in the past, when I requested confirmation of those that were involved with this particular tender, you could not/would not provide it. But I would not think that the Indian Government will be overly pleased, with having to generate more power capacity, in the regions that will adopt this GPRS solution? The Indian Government, indeed, want to generate more power. But they want to generate more power to progress the nation. Not for the nation to stand still. LTI.

A comparison carried out by the CEA ( Central Electricity Agency ) on one of the differences between GPRS and RF. GPRS - Since the GSM/GPRS card, is always in communication mode, the power consumption is huge - more than 10 times that of the nearest, comparable technology. A mobile phone balances between talk time and stand-by time, which is not the case with meters. For the 200 million meters that must be replaced, the power required will go up by nearly 240 MW. RF - Negligible power requirement. Just a different opinion, from another source. By that I mean, other than that expressed on this bb. LTI.

Hello CB, That is the difference between us. I am not struggling at all, in seeing CyanConnodes market potential in India. Or elsewhere, for that matter. And as far as SIMS and EESL are concerned. The Capex outlay, seems marginally better. But the Opex and overall project costs, should really need to be taken into consideration. And that is without looking at the other overall benefits, of RF. There are areas of India, because of the isolation of the village/town, where it is ideal for solar power to provide the basic electrical needs of the inhabitants. And you are also correct in saying, that " ..... it is a very fast growing solution .... " Tata Power Solar, has been been involved with Solar Power development, for nearly 30 years. And I too, touched on the subject some months ago. I commented that solar power was beginning to gain traction, not only in India, but also globally. Tata Power Solar Systems, along with BP, were involved in a project in Ladakh, in the north of India, between Pakistan and Tibet, for some years. " So there could be potential in the Smart City developments, or other areas for that matter, for the future, for any like-minded Companies. But not necessarily next week. A substantial amount of solar development, has been carried out in Ladakh, in particular, over the last 20 years or so, that I believe will be carried forward throughout all aspects of Indian life.
