Which looks like some of the largest states in India, at least by area, have started to use RF initially, as part of there solution for their smart meter installations.

A very interesting report confirming that the Indian Institute of Technology ( IIT ) Delhi and the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer ( FITT ), has signed a MoU with IntelliSmart to collaborate on defining next-generation smart-grid functions and the goals that the companies/organisations are working towards.

An excellent forward thinking/forward looking development, I feel.

I believe that CyanConnode are active in Northern Europe, in the Nordic area. So I would say that CyanConnode are appropriate, in Western economies.

Besides the positive news-flow recently, which was not accompanied by any recent new contract news since July/August 2021, I feel the perception of CyanConnode in the Market and with historic and potentially new share-holders in general, has changed.

With various news releases over the last calendar year, culminating with the inauguration of the CyanConnode IoT Innovation Centre, in India, I feel has changed the dynamic, concerning CyanConnode. For the better.

We will have to see tonyj, how the " volume " orders develop over the next few weeks/months/years and what size they actually come in at, as far as RF contribution's are concerned.

But I feel that CyanConnode is now ready, with maybe a couple more product developments, along with CyanConnodes Partners, to progress further with the India Smart Meter Programme in particular.

Along with other global smart meter/smart grid initiatives gaining momentum.

It would seem that IntelliSmart has been successful with the contract win, initially. But now negotiations should begin with other interested parties, to finalise details. We will have to wait for the outcome of those negotiations and if there is an RF requirement within this particular contract.

IntelliSmart will undertake many different solution projects, during the overall smart meter programme.

There are no timelines included in the initial press release, no solution mentioned and no contractors revealed, at this time. But it does mention that IntelliSmart has been " ..... awarded a letter of award ...... " Whether that is like a " Letter of Intent " is not made clear.

" Assam Power Distribition Company Limit( APDCL ) has awarded a letter of award to IntelliSmart to install the meters in 19 circles. The project will be implemented in TOTEX ( capex + opex ) mode under design, build, finance, own, operate and transfer ( DBFOOT ) arrangement. IntelliSmart will maintain the advanced metering infrastructure ( AMI ) system for a period of about 9 years."

Some signs of contracts being awarded? Could prove interesting.

I remember Anil responding to a question at one of the presentations, when asked how big was the RF market for smart meters, that CyanConnode were targetting in India. At the time I seem to remember he mentioned 10%, or there about's. But on from that, I believe a higher percentage has been mentioned since.

But the more accessible areas, may be the ones that the Indian government will target first, to get things moving. With others to follow when the programme ( and funds ) allows.

From the report:-

" CyanConnode's solutions such as hybrid communication for both RF and Cellular meters, long-range RF solution for scattered agricultural and semi-urban consumers is being developed and tested further through this IoT Innovation Centre."

So, whereas in the past, CyanConnode had reference points such as Mysore ( IPv4 ) and Indore ( IPv6 ), we also now have the IoT Innovation Centre, in India.

But a significant step forward, I believe, in the overall development of CyanConnode.
