During November 2021, IntelliSmart won a contract for Assam for 600,000 smart prepaid meters.

Various details are given within the report on where the prepaid meters are to be installed, but no delivery solution is provided. No meter manufacturer is provided. No start date and no completion date are provided in this report, at this time.

Good morning all.

The African smart meter contract, RNS'd by CyanConnode during August 2021, contained a minimim of information, only confirming the actual number of modules required, with minimal but some, contract details.

There was no end customer, no country ( only Africa ), no value and no meter manufacturer contained in the RNS. I referenced this type of RNS information release at 07:38 and 11:05 yesterday and the the valid reasons for it.

I am comfortable with the information given in these types of RNS's and recognise the confidentiality of some Clients with respect to the confidentiality our Client will have towards their competitors.

But look forward to the relevant details being made public, when our/CyanConnode's Client is comfortable that the time is right.

" Smart meter opportunities outside of India."

" Understandably, the market focus is on India, which has a population and smart meter programme that dwarfs most other markets in the world. That said, some of the new regions could ultimately offer deployment opportunities on a scale similar to that of India. In our view, Africa is top of this list, given the size of the population and the economic transformation that is under way, in some of the larger countries.

" In South Africa, for example, the state-owned power utility, Escom, is suffering from a combination of a very large debt burden, a substantial shortfall in generation capacity and regular load shedding ( rolling power cuts to manage situations where demand for electricity exceeds supply.) The country is on track to deliver its worst-ever year in 2021 for load shedding. The situation in Nigeria, the largest economy in Africa, is similarly dire, with regular blackouts and power cuts. World Bank data show that during 2019, Nigeria suffered power outages on more than half the days of the year.

The first African contract for 100,000 modules was announced in 1H'22; CyanConnode has formed a number of partnerships to address the Africa and Middle East regions and this contract suggests that the opportunity is starting to come to life. Discussions are ongoing in the UAE, for various retrofit and new projects. In Asia, we continue to expect further orders in Thailand, from the existing major utility customer.

CyanConnode's technology can be retrofitted into existing meters, which would represent substantial savings for the water utilities. I think we can both agree that this development for the MENA region, is another progressive step for CyanConnode.

As the order is expected to commence during this calendar year, after the " ... initial stages of obtaining certifications ..." is complete, we can look forward to further relevant details being provided by CyanConnode when the Client is ready.

This phase of the RNS news release, has been covered and explained by CyanConnode during previous discussions. i.e., the Client not wanting certain details of the contract made public, at the initial time of CyanConnode's RNS. Whether that be their name, meter manufacturer involved, value or volume.

All these need to be taken into account, as part of the overall commercial sensitivity, involved with the initial RNS press release.

But good news I feel.

An excellent move into a new region for CyanConnode with this new order from the MENA region.

From the report:-

" CyanConnode Holdiings plc ( AIM: CYAN ) is pleased to announce that it has received an order for a smart metering deployment in MENA Region ( Middle East and North Africa ), which is a new territory for the company. This order is for CyanConnode's cellular communications product which will be deployed to connect smart electricity and smart water meters.

" Under the contract, CyanConnode will supply cellular hubs, with a capacity to handle up to 1 million meters.

" Following the initial stage of obtaining certifications, it is expected that delivery against the order will commence during this callendar year."

No doubt more details on the customer and the meter manufacturer will be made public when it is more appropriate.

But good news that the solutions will be used for the delivery of smart water meters, as well as smart electricity meters.

Colourbounce, just in case you hadn't realised, I have other things to do with my life, than to answer your every question, at your convenience.

To get back specifically to your 12:40 post yesterday, I do have an opinion on the percentage that CyanConnode will win, which is more than the 1% - 4% you have quoted at various times.

But why would I know exactly " ...... how many meters are involved in the current round of tenders." I would think that situation changes regularly. For any number of reasons.

I am hoping, it will be an ongoing process, from now on. With 250 million electric meters alone, to be tendered for, there will need to be some form of structure implemented for the delivery of the overall project.

From the CyanConnode 25th March RNS, which I believe you posted earlier today:-

" The Company is very well positioned to win the communications solutions element of these large tenders and is targeting to win 20 million - 30 million smart meters over the next five years."

It was you who interpreted that into a percentage on Wednesday evening at 22:42 , when you posted " Just this week, in the Placing document, the Company has reiterated that it is only targetting to win 7% - 12% of Indian smart meters over the next five years." So that was a percentage of the 250m smart meters.

Which is why I posted the original text from the RNS, at 09:58 this morning, which does not include percentages, as a reply to your post at 08:03 this morning.

Even though your percentages are approximately correct, if you take the 20m/30m smart meters as a percentage of the of the overall 250m, the tenders that CyanConnode seem to be talking about at the moment, seem to be active tenders that are projected for delivery over the next five years.

So the overall figure, may be higher, over a longer time-frame.

As I mentioned in my previous post, CyanConnode confirmed a 20m/30m smart meter target figure from the tenders they are presently involved with, within the 25th March, 2022 RNS.

Your percentages are near enough, as we both agreed.

As a percentage, 8% to 12%.

The Company gave figures for smart meters targeted from large tenders, in the RNS, whereas you gave percentages in your post.

As I posted, you can interpret figures in many ways.
