Just wanted to say thank you for the insight AdamAnt. I was going to buy earlier this week and your note around the 145 mark made me hold off until today. I'm now in so will be frequenting this board a little more often.

What's interesting is that house builders fell on Tuesday in fear of a .75 or 1% rate rise. Then rose again yesterday after the news of the stamp duty changes and now the rate rise is only 0.5% and yet it's below yesterday's close. Seems to be the same for all HB though.

Yes should have gone higher in my opinion. 1% would have been sensible I think, we are playing catch up with the US right now.

Bank of England have bottled it again. Pound will tank, but this should hold up well.

That's odd. You wouldn't imagine the price would rise though if that was the case. I wondered if we would see a drop today with the war escalation again and the BoE rate changes tomorrow and the inevitable hit on any business perceived to be carrying debt, but this has an amazing day.

Today feels like a compelling test. If this can stage a dramatic turnaround again, then the rumours really will start to feel like something much more.

I'm not suggesting that if it doesn't turnaround they are false, but it would be a big statement when the market is tanking if they can.

Agreed. The market seems to be on a down day generally and this has got caught up in it. Probably lack of further rumour or concrete news on Friday's speculation hasn't helped.

There may not be before an official announcement. Micro focus that someone mentioned previously, was reported in Betaville in February this year and there wasn't anything in the press until the RNS landed from the company in August. It depends how far along the potential bidder is with their due diligence and whether they have formally approached NEX, as soon as it's formal I believe they are obligated to update the market.

That being said, French connection is one I can recall getting a lot of momentum out of the blue without press coverage then within a couple of days an RNS landed.

For now we just need to hope to see a continuation of the positive momentum. I assume that if NEX want to start a bidding war then they'll likely update the market as soon as they can.

I'm tempted to average up to and it's taken all I have to restrain myself. I average down last week and cashed out the extra shares at break even, but with all this positivity my spare cash is being lured back in

Today's trading volume was the highest it's been since I've been back here so either something is afoot or there are a lot of traders buying into this rumour.

This rumour would make a lot of sense with the big buys from the company secretary recently

Over 2m trades took this up just over £2, but only 100k drop it back down 10p. Could be MM trying to snatch some shares?

Indeed, I guess there could be more news over the weekend too.
