Thank you TruroT for your thoughtful perspective. Perhaps I just don't understand these things. In a little more detail: the placing has (effectively) doubled the shareholding of two of the directors. My question was (perhaps rhetorically) why should we (the shareholders) support such a further incentive? One of the big curses of AIM is share dilution, and this may not be a massive dilution, but it is a dilution, and it is a precedent. If, as you (correctly) suggest that the lack of orders is the big issue at this time, do they need further incentive to address this, and what will they do now to address it that they should not have been doing all along? And if the answer is that they are confident because something (Airbus?) is in the pipeline, then is this nothing more than aggressively exploiting restricted information at the expense of other shareholders? All that being as may be, Truro or others, do you understand why the SP rose strongly after this placing, when I would have expected the reverse? Does it suggest that there is indeed some good news coming? And most important, where are our other LTH - NikyLauda, Rogerramjetlse, Team83, and others! Missing your thoughts. Lots of things happening... granting of options to directors yesterday, big rise in SP yesterday, another rise today, Amati holding now over 6% (today RNS), a buy today at 1.19 (!), another buy today of 3 million at 1.075... has everyone got out of the habit of checking the SP and this BB?! No real progress with HDD for the last couple of years. Long-term holders have just experienced a collapsing share price. But the Directors have just granted themselves, again, a massive number of new shares, i.e. a big cash handout. Do they really merit some new incentive? Long-term private investors are massively diluted - again. I am massively disappointed. Have I got this wrong, have I missed something? Please advise! Cordially Lionel

Kev4: Yes, I too understand (I think) GH's bitterness. I was curious as to why he still posts. My email to MTR was on 25 May 2016, and included the following: ----- extract from email to MTR ....In the past 18 months: *CGNR share price has fallen systematically to the current 25p *there has been very little by way of news on progress to shareholders *the RNS convey the impression of nothing more than a lone geologist wandering around the area making expansive claims *we see no results on drilling, or detailed assays *we hear no news of progress in negotiations for mining *we hear no plans for further exploitation *emails to the company go unanswered *the bulletin boards (although I take little stock of them) are nevertheless hugely disillusioned I do wonder whether MTR has been swept along by the same euphoria that the chairman has been exhorting for several years. Can we expect facts, can we expect more information, and can we expect visible progress, now that MTR is taking a (hugely welcome) participation? Goheavy: perhaps I should have taken more note of your warnings a year or two ago. But you will appreciate, I'm sure, that any reasonable investor does not follow the directions of any posters on these bulletin boards, certainly not without careful filtering. But could you let me know why you continue to follow this BB, and why you continue to post here? If your views are so negative - and presumably you are not invested in CGNR - why do you devote your time and emotional energy here? Not an unreasonable question, I hope? Cordially Lionel

Yes, Kev4, it does seem that there are a few of in a very similar boat. About what we could do in practice: I suppose we could attend the AGM and register these concerns, otherwise, I do not really have good ideas about how to proceed. I suppose Goheavy did warn us! I wrote to MTR a few days after they took a stake, and explained how we have been treated, explained that we've seen little progress of late, and suggested they keep a careful eye on the hype. What little optimism I have today is based on interviews I've heard with MTR's Paul Johnson. I'm not yet ready to believe that PJ has been "taken in" hook, line & sinker, so I'm trusting that there is some real potential here, that MTR can unlock it, and that something pleasantly surprising might be pulled out of the hat. tokenpunter: agreed, very nicely put. It summarises my situation perfectly as well. Long-time investor, with high hopes in the early days. Now sitting on a fairly big loss. I suspect this is going nowhere, but with MTR aboard we are certainly getting more information. Go into this with your eyes open, all new investors. As a previous poster also said, today's RNS seemed remarkably anodyne... it sounded like someone had been wandering around the area panning in the river beds! If that is what we have been waiting years for, heaven help us! If I've misrepresented the Prof and his team - well, for goodness sake, give us some real information! Good morning LTH (including fulmar29 from over at MARL), Do we have any reasonable indication or evidence that there actually any real action going on at the proposed drill sites? I have taken a very long punt on CGNR, the improving gold price should help, but for the 2 or more years that I've been in here, I have seen little evidence that anyone means business. The recent involvement of MTR is welcome, and gave temporary support to the SP, but I wonder whether they too have been swept into this by words rather than deeds. Any thoughts? Cordially Lionel

Perhaps just worth picking out one phrase from the Airbus testing from the normally understated Hardide CEO: Quote: "This success is a key enabler for the Company's further growth in the European, North American and wider aerospace markets which have ***enormous potential*** for the Hardide coating technology." cordially Lionel

Ha, hot off the blocks there, NikyL! Excellent news after a very long and intensive testing programme! This will surely have big knock-on effects in similar critical and very demanding areas. EU legislation, which is driving the changes in hard chrome production processes, has set a sunset date of 21 September 2017, by which time all manufacturing processes must be compliant. Trials underway on components for Airbus and AgustaWestland suggest the potential for good revenues. The development, test and qualification programme with Airbus, in its eighth year, is now complete and we submitted our final documentation to Airbus for approval in early November 2015. Our qualification programme with AgustaWestland is also progressing well and coated test parts are now with the helicopter manufacturer for mechanical testing and evaluation. We expect the pace of this qualification programme to increase as the September 2017 sunset date approaches for the use of hexavalent chromium."

It has indeed been quiet here for some while. My alert flashed yesterday, and the strong buying continues today. Six times the daily average already today, and a rise of more than 30%. Thank you all for these nice recent posts (Niky, Saintly, Mr Ramjetlse, and the Rev Shep) which remind us that the company remains a most interesting hold, that its soldiers are all nicely lined up, and perhaps we will all be pleasantly rewarded for our loyalty and patience if and when aeronautical accreditation is achieved.
