The trading update won't be great, if previous ones are anything to go by. On the other hand, it would be nice to have further news of the order pipeline and progress with current projects. The cash burn will presumably remain high and the turnover low but it's the future prospects that the market will hopefully focus on. Otherwise we could be in for what analysts euphemistically call a share replacement. LT holders are used to this however.

The reason for my question is that I read a lot about the different types of electrolysers currently being offered. Do PEM ones perform significantly better in certain contexts than say alkali ones? As a non-technical person it's interesting to know these things

Just wondering Bilbo how ITM's technology rates in this marketplace? Do they have pricing power? This could presumably be decisive in terms of future profitability.

JoeKenny I am inclined to agree with birdman. If the hydrogen economy succeeds it will be a huge bonus for the environment and mankind generally. It also promises to be a worthwhile financial investment in the future.

Thanks for that Bilbo. The manufacturing timescale is clearly shorter than I was imagining. The installation and site preparation seem to be the time-consuming parts.

As a matter of interest Bilbo, do you have any idea how long it would take to build something of that size? I'm in the dark here.

That's interesting Bellers. Presumably if things go well they will want to expand the site and having vacant land adjacent would be handy

I couldn't agree with you more Bilbo. The whole idea of wood as a biomass solution is highly suspect. Drax are converting all their coal-fired units to wood now but are they still shipping it from N America? I can't imagine how that helps with CO2 reduction. I am not at all convinced that the Govt have thought this out.

Ian Cowie has been a regular supporter of the SP for a while now, having ended up, like myself, with ITM as one of his most valuable holdings. Good to have this kind of exposure in the mainstream press.

ITM'S relationship with Shell seems to have withered somewhat of late. We don't hear much about the refinery project or the refuelling stations these days. Hopefully there are other irons in the fire though.

Well he sounds enthusiastic enough. So frustrating that refuelling stations are taking so long to roll out here in the UK. What is the government thinking?

Things seem to have calmed down after the sudden rush of blood to the head this morning. I don't think any of us expected the SP to reach such giddy heights so quickly but many institutions will be looking to stocks like ITM and CWR to satisfy their green energy credentials. In a tight market such volatility is only to be expected.

Agreed it wasn't a very informative article, just summarising what we already know. Graham Cooley has been posting articles from various publications on Twitter recently, some of which shed rather more light. I know Bilbo isn't impressed by him but I would say he's worth following for the links.

Ian Cowie regularly mentions ITM in his column, having been invested in the company for almost as long as me. There is no shortage of press comment currently but it would be nice to have more company news.

This could be a very significant development if it gains traction. Some really big players partnering with ITM and the projects are potentially huge. Hopefully the new factory will play a sizeable part of this but we shall see. The ITM board has been frustratingly tight-lipped - it would be nice to hear more positive news.
