The company is McMill International Securities LLC, supposedly headquartered in NYC. I had a similar call a few years ago relating to Whitbread. The downside of being on a share register I guess.

I have just had a phone call from someone purporting to represent a company wishing to build a 51% stake in iTM. They are talking about offering between £8 and £17 per share. Has anyone else received this? I am on the share register, unlike most private investors. My initial thoughts are that it's a scam but we shall see.

There are a couple of other large pumped-storage schemes awaiting approval. SSE has one planned for Coire Ghlas and a privately funded project is proposed at Dores on Loch Ness.

Motley Fool article today describes ITM Power as a battery developer. A bit more research needed there I think.

The results are usually the prelude to a spectacular fall, as we oldies know well. Still, one can always hope.....

I couldn't agree more Bilbo. What is the point of blue hydrogen? The oil and gas companies will push it in order to monetise their assets, which would otherwise be stranded. Their lobbying has to be resisted.

Ballard seemed to end even further up the beach than ITM. I guess we just have to sit this out until the tide comes Iin again.

Apart from the high upfront cost, my main concern is the running expenses of such a system. I have heard tales of high electricity bills, especially in older properties with no underfloor heating. Hard to get an estimate of these costs in my experience.

Couldn't agree more Bilbo. They seem to have the technology in place but endless fundraisings aren't the answer here. The markets will demand profits eventually and some clarity on this would be helpful.

The BBC article gives you some idea of the potential of offshore windpower, much of which would be an ideal application for ITM's electrolyser technology. It's still early stage but the future could be huge.
