Self-Driving Car Company to Test a Second Autonomous Vehicle in NYC.

The new city permit will require companies to self-certify “that their autonomous vehicles will operate more safely than human drivers in New York City,” submit “a safety plan,” and carry $5 million in insurance to “indemnify the city against legal liabilities”; and provide information about any collisions. The DOT must also be allowed to take a ride in the autonomous car as a “demonstration of the autonomous vehicle technology.”

The updated GM contract was low so I'd doubt the addition of more trims was included in contract prices.

Current RFQs wins announced within next 3 quarters.
Decisions to be made about on what programs SEE will bid for going forward. Do you bid on a program which sells 200k cars a year or one that sells 800k. Same resource needed.

At this vol don't think its PI's buying big volumes so for the big stuff II's selling down as we know we've had regular selling but at this SP there's big buyers about.

QC logic.... The acquisition also fits into a broader Qualcomm strategy to expand its Total Available Market (TAM). Qualcomm has made automotive a top priority and has seen significant success.

I guess SEE's incentive to remain independent as long as it can is to maximise its TAM. Booked business in the near term is strategic.

Qualcomm are integrating SEE into their silicon for Snap4.
Veoneer got Ford and Chrysler so far using SEE.
All sounds like a very tight group to work with. I Don't see a downside, as QC can spend whatever is required to make their new buy a big success.

QC wouldn't want anyone else to own SEE either but whether that leads to a bid who knows. Perhaps they'll wait until the A$900m rfqs are sorted.

This is the first time in recent years I can remember SEE giving pipeline (SEE have responded to RFQ) numbers.

They will have a degree of confidence/understanding of where their partner T1's are in the mix.

Of course T1's can offer more than one T2 but to be associated with 16 T1's is remarkable.

You can't interpret the $900m as won since SEE havent announced wins yet. You could interpret SEE winning a good portion. IMO.
And you could interpret at least this value of RFQs each of the next several years.
100,000 cars with SEE tech is great so far, and we've only just started...

Paul said the market was $1bn a year.(eventually).
So $900m pipeline over models lifetime is about $180m a year, hence lots more rfqs to come in following years. That right?

Agree, a more realistic view of future income from won contracts to date would be good.
From what we know the current rfqs dwarf our current contracts by a long way so hopefully when audited finals are released the news will be even better.

If course brock you wont see and uplift in mileage but say for example they have connected just over 30k but sold another 5 or 10k not connected, thats material.

Im looking for the connected and sold figures combined. This is the measure they started publicising.

Deffo worth a watch as Magna are buying Veoneer for their ADAS experience and scale to compliment Magna's existing systems....

Its a dispute over a name not a dispute over IP, why would it cause a hold up for SEE?

Analyst knows the quality of Veoneers dms.......
