There was one paragraph in the annual report that could be glossed over but it is VERY significant.....OTA updates are a major thing to OEMs if they want a change made/more options. The fact that OTA can be deployed to the FOVIO chip is a massive step up from our competitors......Hence why Ford jumped so quickly I expect........

Agree with Klick about the personal insults to Ken and others.

So this week there are a couple of things coming:-
1. Veoneer 3rd quarter results 25 Oct. The chinese win should be included in this quarter results as it was RNS'd July by SEE. Perhaps we get an updated chart from them to give us some clues on where they are in terms of RFQ's etc.

2. Smarteye 3rd Qarter on 25 Oct. Always useful to keep and eye on what they are doing to at least rule out some of the OEM's that SEYE win. Vicktor has been all over them winning FCA but we will see. He seems to think their Q3 will give some indication of RFQ's.

3. And also Aptiv 3rd Quarter results 31 Oct. Aptiv have stated back in May/June in a presentation that they have DMS with FCA.

Oh and perhaps SEE may give us an update IF progress has been made on what is happening to Fleet, Rail, Aviation and Auto.

This is the first warning shot across the bow of the OEMs. Nobody should be in any doubt what will be required in the future. .....Make sure the driver stays alert and attentive - set up for DMS.

He suggests that Nvidia have their own DMS (in house) but on a GPU processor which costs more and uses more power.
He then suggests if that is the case then Nvidia would be in a two way fight with Mobileye (assuming Mobileye buy/JV with a DMS supplier) for the mass market. In my opinion of course the mass market is not just about DMS - it is mainly AV (with all the bits required to include a DMS portion). I dont think MBly and Nvidia are going to war over DMS - it would more be about all the rest of the kit they supply and DMS would be a part of it.

Dont forget Mobileye are owned by Intel who also bought Altera (a fpga chip maker) so when he says Mobileye he really means Intel et al.

Whatif - no we wont be able to see the tech unlike the current GM system - it will be integrated into the driver's visual display. Seeing2020 post below detailing the RNS 30 Oct 2017 gives us the pointers.

Unfortunately SEE cant come out and say it is Merc, however when questioned Ken said they were trying to get OEM's to allow them to give the name of the OEM out prior to launches. Remains to be seen if that happens.

Phil - yes that's SEE tech in the Merc. And coming in 2020.
Decisions by other OEM's really have to be made soon (probably <6 months) and we will know where SEE are in the big scheme of things going forward. It's clear from what has happened recently that Auto is the big one.

GB2 - This was the supplier signed up in April 2014 initially for 3 years to supply the DSS for SEE.

This could be an interesting month. 1.veoneer issue 1/2 year results and will probably want to say how well things are going. Will we get an indication of more wins or progress? 2. Finals said restructure was underway. In truth it started months ago. Ryan, Jack G2 issues didn't just happen last month. 3. Kevin is knocking his pan in working in Japan. Kens leaving breadcrumbs all over the place. 4. BdMS - we have a contract. But with whom? 5. Here's the bad bit. First tranche of key staff share allocation is this month. Would expect some positives before 5 comes out.

John, I don't see this as any other deal as if it was a fleet contract in a trucking company.
I would expect that Guardian will be installed and monitored by SEE's central station and events monitored and if needed reported on directly to the client. The usual warnings and seat shake will still occur within the car but incidents will be monitored as normal.
The AV car fleets are concentrating on what they see as the major issues to get them to fully autonomous i.e. working out how to get lidar/radar edge cases working properly. IMO

We've had a tesla as a test car for a while now.
