At the moment this share seems to be good at giving the shareholders an early morning horror show before slowly recovering throughout the day ...Let's hope we have a turn around on Thursday ...
I think it is quite remarkable that the Premier Oil Debt has stayed unchanged at $1.97 billion from December to June in what has been one of the most difficult and unpredictable periods for the oiil sector ...During the Covid 19 Pandemic £35 Billion pounds of Corperate Debt has been...TAKEN ON ...by UK companies during this period ..so compared to many larger UK companies Premier Oil has come through this period in better financial shape than many...With slowly improving oil prices and increasing revenue the existing Premier Debt will become comparitively smaller in size over the medium / long term ...
Often with shares... there can be a some of nervous investors who wish to sell quickly if they think shares are falling ..but what is not always realized is for... a lot of the time ...shares can move in a side ways direction with lesser or greater volitility depending on the share ...But people who short term trade the shares know that others will be panic selling because of this volitility and profit from those sellers !!!..Lenin
RE: Any idea on ISA rules for RI issue ?17 Aug 2020 06:17
I am not an expert in this area .but I understand the rules to be you can take money out of an I S A account but if you try to reinvest money at a later date that will count towards your total allowance for that year .until the following tax year ..Do you have a partner etc ..who can open up another I S A account ???..I would.have no.problems with my.wife doing this for me but of course.it would have to be a partner you completely.trust ... ..
Yes I do understand to be very careful when reading assessments and valuations of company shares ..but it is always nice to read something positive for a change ... Barclays Capital have a a very downbeat future valuation for Premier of.... 22 p per share but this one out of line with the majority of brokers who think the share price should be higher ...But the price of oil seems fairly stable right now so I reckon they will end up with egg on their faces !!!
I know one must be careful when reading up on expert opinions etc.on different companies ....but I have a Simply Wall Street App on my mobile .....It has a section on the summary page given by a number of Analysts ..( 9 in the case of Premier) ..as to what the fair value of a company should be as in relation to current value ......In regards to Premier Oil off course current value is just under 36 p per share ...But they are saying the Fair Value for Premier should £4 .00 per share !!!! ......When I tried Tullow Oil just to compare .( this time based on 14 analyst ) current value for Tullow was... 25 pence per share ..They say the fair value should be 26 pence per share ...A very big difference in fair value.of the two companies to say the least !!!!!! Yes .after studying the price of Gold Charts.. I realized how closely Pan African Resources follow these charts ...Gold has come down a little from its recent highs and like the P A F share is a little bit uncertain which way to move at the moment ...Compared to other Gold companies however..... P A F had a good day on Friday ....but I must make a confession and say as oil seem to be recovering from an early set back on Friday I sold my shares in P A F and moved back into a mid cap oil company until I have a clearer idea of what is happening with Gold as I prevcieve this to be the higher risk of the two ....But this of course depends on when the purchase of shares was made,.. in my case I consider myself to be late into buying P A F shares which have obviously grown well over the last few months .....
Now as a passive onlooker watching the movement ( or downwards movement ) of Iofina shares this morning is definitely more interesting than ..watching paint dry !!!...But for all the wrong reasons !!!!..My genuine commiserations for anyone having a bad day with these shares ....
No that's not true the whole market is a sea of red! !!!! I sold my shares in Premier only a couple of days ago in order to buy shares in a small A I M company which messed up when my trading platform did not allow me to buy shares in that particular company ... Because ..at the time I thought I had no chance to rebuy shares in Premier at the same value I had brought them previously.. I tried a Gold Shares Company which I do realize carries its own risk ... However my jaw dropped this morning when I saw the fall in the Premier Shares and personal good luck I have had at this unexpected turn of events ...( my Gold Mining shares ..so far ..are going up ) . However Premier is my favorite company to be invested in ..so as soon as everything settles down I will be back in ...My genuine commiserations for everybody having a bad day with these shares ...Lenin
I cannot believe my lucky escape this morning .!!! I sold my shares in a mid cap oil company only a few days ago ..and then attempted to buy shares in a small A I M company which messed up when I realized my trading platform did not allow me to buy shares in a that company .... Because I did not think I could buy shares in the same mid cap oil again at the same value that I had previously brought I decided to look elsewhere at a number of companies big and small where to place my money ... Yesterday I brought shares in Pan African Gold ( the first time I have had anything to do with Gold in any form full stop ) and am obviously keeping my fingers crossed I may make a gain ...But my jaw dropped this morning when I checked the shares in the oil company I had previously been invested only a few days earlier and how fast they have fallen in one day ....So instead of me seeing Gold as risky gamble ..so far it has been a good move to make ...I just hope my good luck so far will last !!!!
Sadly as I live in the UK my Trading Platform does not allow me to take a punt with Norwegian Air Shuttle ...but I hope that this share shall be a ..High Flyer ..for you in the near future ........ Regards Lenin ...
I know ..I derampted the share ...but I can take it on the chin ....If it's any consolation I decided I will call my next pet cat .. Iofina ...it's such a catchy name.!!!!,,,,,,,??....
RE: Brent is Looking Bullish.....11 Aug 2020 10:32
What I meant was ..Premier had a very sharp spike up and then followed by a sharp drop between early June to late July ...this time the path up maybe on a more gentle even trend judging by previous patterns with Premier ... However the big unknown here is how fast the oil price will climb in relation to near term issues on supply and demand ... Obviously the bigger issues regarding supply ..the faster the upwards climb ..I don't know if this makes my comment any clear .. sorry if I did not appear to explain it properly ... Regards Lenin
I sold my shares in Iofina after only being briefly invested... after deciding watching the movements of this stock made me realize that watching paint dry is much more positively exciting .!!!!..I will try my luck elsewhere and maybe I will have another go in September should the share trades get into double figures !!!!
Normally I am very impressed when I see stocks and shares climb to very high levels so quickly ...The great thing about Norwegian Air Shuttle this stock leaves me very impressed by how fast it can go down in the opposite direction !!!!... When the shares crash land to 0.001 I may be tempted to buy some !!!!..Regards Lenin....
RE: Brent is Looking Bullish.....11 Aug 2020 05:09
I have just been reading due to a perfect conjunction of events for oil ...such as the shut down of rigs in the U S A ./No oil production from Libya and Venezuela / The nationalization of oil in Mexico with all the consequences this will have for exploration in this area /The O P E C cuts / The faster than expected improving world economies ..means that we maybe approaching $100 a barrel faster than what is being forcast .....

I would say that this share is definitely moving in an upwards trend ... However studying the Premier chart for the last 3 years it is interesting to note that the recent spike from the high 20s beginning of June to the low 50s end of June and then back down to the low 30s by later part of July is basically quite a large spike which may not repeat itself this time ...In other words it may be a slower smoother progression upwards ...Why ????... Because on the 3 year chart this type of sharp spike up and down which the share has just come through seems to happen maybe for example once every 6 months although there are plenty of smaller spikes in between ...Now there is nothing to say this pattern with Premier will definitely repeat itself but since the low point for this share in early March the evidence so far suggest that is exactly what the Premier share so far is doing ...I have posted this message just so anyone who thinks this share will go shooting up.just like a firework needs to bear in mind ... Regards Lenin
As a recent investor I cannot be expected to have anywhere near the same level off knowledge as people who have been invested with this company for longer ..I have only just learned where Zama is on a map !!! But we all have to start from somewhere like the first time you learned to drive a car ...Okay Premier shares fell during the latter part of this week but they are doing no worse than any other oil company ....Just look at B P ..Shell... Tullow ...Like Premier they all have their own issues / problems etc...but with the very recent larger than expected oil drawdowns being reported in the U S A over the last few weeks possibly becoming a recent trend all these issues will not quite seem so major assuming the price of oil continues it gradual upwards march...All of a sudden there will be a rush to buy shares in oil and then the period we are in now will seem like a distant memory ..Just need to keep the faith ....Regards Lenin ..
Yes ..it is risky to short this stock at the moment ...the last time Premier was at these levels was just before the spike upwards in early June ...Then the price of Brent Crude was below $40 dollars a barrel with a much less clear path of direction of travel ....This week Brent Crude briefly managed the dizzy heights of $46 a barrel before falling back a little ...It will be interesting to watch midweek to see if the bigger than expected drawdowns of oil in the U S A will continue ...At some point this can no longer be ignored by major investors....Lenin
