It's not very clear what point she is making (probably as a typical diplomat), but she is clearly reiterating the importance of Ascent.

I'm quite worried at how much it's leapt - the announcement of today is fine, but I'd rather wait for a dip, the valuation now looks at tad optimistic.

Your statement ignores the oil and gas in the shallows, that do not require any more permits to be exploited, and require relatively little cost to be accessed for commercial production.

Your statement ignores how the value of a business is calculated according to accounting and valuation principles.

So it's a much slower burner than what I'd expected when I bought my (few) Polemos shares last year. But at least they seem to be doing the rights things so far.

Mil - not when Ascent has officially (as per RNSs) lawyered up. It was not the case before the minister intervened.

CH has flaws indeed, but people unfairly ignore the total unpredictability of the minister's actions in late October.
CH could not have possibly predicted that decision to send the just-about-to-be-awarded permits back with Arso.

milnrowmug - your question is very vague so I don't know what type of answer you expect really...
The SP is certainly in the gutter, but the BoD situation is much better than it was in early November. Legally, Ascent seems to have finally got its act together and appears to be much less passive. Even financially there is a bit more cash in due to that (frustrating) PB placing of mid-January.

And if an EIA were indeed requested now, it would support the view that this info was leaked to the press, which would make Arso look very bad.

Funnily enough, if such a request for an EIA is made, it would be excellent material for Ascent's lawyers and the ever-growing case against Arso and the Slovenian government and courts...

But since Total Slovenia News and SIOL.net (which first reported that claim IIRC) have shown repeated bias against Ascent, I think that such claims are to take with a massive pinch of salt.

It’s why Ascent now has lawyers that follow the process on a regular basis - what it did not have before.

I completely disagree in trading and investment decisions being substantially influenced by “faith”. However, in the present case, Ascent having its owns lawyers who follow the stages of the permitting process is a (f*cking long overdue) change of attitude, so the authorities must be finding harder to mess us about.

Zibi - I don’t recall JB talking at all about the strategic review.

What we do know (and was repeated by CH) is that the interested parties went through the data themselves. Whether they focused exclusively on the middle layer, like Ascent did itself in its operations of the past 3-6(?) years, or whether they also looked carefully at the other layers, has not been mentioned.

conrad02 - my understanding is that they have already built a solid case as there have been breaches of various EU laws. It seems that they just keep strengthening that case as time passes... (no details provided).

Actually, yes, I certainly do need to shout the opening bit before people start copy/pasting the content as if it were official statements from the BoD.
